| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 10:08:30 Halftime orange - good points except one - did you see Cedric stand still so that Alli could control the ball and score? Watch MOTD! Otherwise he looked good going forward, but he is no NC! |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 18:54:58 Looked poor today after a good 20 minutes at the start. We are going to be in a relegation dog-fight if this carries on, and, apart from VD and VW we don't have any dogs! Lightweight in the midfield with Clasie not ready, Davis out of position on the wing, and JWP unable to stamp his authority. Dembele, today, was head and shoulders above anyone on the pitch, If VW is going to Spurs, get Dembele in exchange! As I've said before, we have not replaced NC, MS, and AL - indeed even SRL might be able to do a job for us; Pelle flogs his guts out, but he does not always make the right decisions when in possession. Still, keep going is the only option, and those without the stomach to fight, such as Tadic, should step up to the mark! |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 12:04:25 The facts are these: we have not replaced Clyne or Schneiderlin, and there is no effective back-up in central defence when either Fonte or Van Dyke is out. Add to this that there are, in my opinion, second-rate foreign players such as Martina, Romeu and Juanmi getting on the bench at the expense of our younger players. Surely Ryan Seager deserves a chance, along with Reed, and what happened to Hesketh? One game last year, so good enough then, taken out by a cynical Leicester City player on his debut never to appear again! We have international (at their level) players out on loan - Stephens and Gallager for example, surely they will put in better shifts than fly-by-night outsiders, who may have potential, but no hunger! |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 12:13:44 I would have thought, with Pelle up against formidable central defenders, we could have left him out, put on a good passer, e.g. JWP, and aim to play balls outside to our pacy players, Long and Mane to run at 'em, inside or outside. Shawcross and Wollsheid would have no conventional centre-forward to deal with, and as they don't have the pace to keep up with our fast men, would be liable to committing fouls in good areas for us. Pelle battled on well, and he should have had a penalty from an abject referee, but it was often 2 against 1. As for Tadic, when a battling attitude is required he is wanting, and he looks to complain about others on the team! |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 14:43:15 You have to take your chances! Shelvey is a known threat from distance - taking Reed off allowed him to get around the pitch easier, eventually leading to their goal! Forster should have had the Shelvey shot, good though it was! |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 13:54:00 Newcastle - bunch of mainly frenchmen who did not want to know! Nothing to play for that they cared about and it showed! However, our three foreigners had nothing to do, and left the work to our England hopefuls! Based on this match, and several previous matches, I could see Jack Cork sneaking on to the plane because Wilshire is injured and overrated, and Cleverly is not good enough either! |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 08:51:52 Who needs Osvaldo? He's done nothing, and now he's 'injured'! Lambert and Rodriguez did the business up front, MS was brilliant, Wanyama showed us that he CAN pass! Outstanding: JWP - surely could go to Brazil? Fulham gave up at 2 - 0, although they shut-up shop effectively second half! Both full-backs played like wingers and left the defending to L and F. Lallana excellent! Great display! (Boruc will be needing some practice during training, or he will forget how to be a keeper!) |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 09:33:43 Nothing has been said about the dreadful substitution at half-time! Taking off Jack Cork, if he was not injured, must rate as the worst tactical decision since Nigel took off Lambert, Puncheon and Lallana against Manchester United! Jack Cork is one of the best midfielders of his type in the league - pinching the ball, letting it run in order to make space, and laying it off to colleagues in good postions. Terrible decision! |
