| News Comment | Stuart Armstrong Weighing Up Options at 11:07:12
He is one of our few really creative players and I would really like to see him stay on. I think his link up with Ryan Fraser was a highlight. Either way a truly great servant who scored and made some memorable goals. |
| News Comment | Saints May Have To Cash In On Star Defender at 11:02:01
He has been a star for us on many occasions. I think in at least one PL season he was the defender who made the most blocks. That shows how good he is at reading strikers. If he will sign a no brainier for me. |
| News Comment | Southampton At West Bromwich Albion The Play Off Verdict at 10:58:34
Good that we do not go back to St Mary's behind but I think Martin wasted a great opportunity to bring on Sulemana against a tired defence on a very hot day. Great to see Ross Stewart on and effective. Not sure about Brooks still. |
| News Comment | Southampton At Leeds United The Verdict at 19:35:15
Great to see Ross Stewart back and at least one good interchange (in the short time they were on the pitch) with Sulemana. Hope Martin has well and truly learnt his lesson and that we can press on in the next 3 games. |

Why is the Leicester cheating penalty not applied this year, just another example of the dubious integrity (to be polite) of the football authorities. |
| News Comment | No Togetherness No Character No Fight at 13:56:11
Frankly, the women’s season is about to finish and Marianne Spacey-Cale would probably do a better job than Martin in the playoffs. Any fool could see that balls over the top and speedy players were the answer but one speed Martin insists on playing out slowly. |
| News Comment | Southampton At Leicester The Debacle at 13:45:27
Awful team selection and tactics, Brooks is useless and Edozie (whilst better) is simply not strong enough. Game was crying out for Sulemana and some balls over the top but the only one who couldn’t see that was our manager. Needs to go and if by any chance Potter would come we should bite his hand off. Their first goal was offside and am I the only one who thought the referee had given a free kick in the build up that was taken with a rolling ball not in the right place. KWP badly at fault there. Disgraceful performance. |

Really bad luck the timing of injuries to Flynn Downes and Stuart Armstrong, hope Stu’s injury isn’t as bad as feared and that we offer him a new contract. Very disappointing game management again comes back to bite us sadly. |
| News Comment | Southampton V Watford The Verdict at 16:32:16
In fairness to Jack Stephen’s he made two first rate tackles to stop Watford chances but on the converse side he gave the ball away just after the first Watford goal in a really dangerous position and we were lucky to get away with it. This inconsistency is why I have a strong preference for the Bednarak / Harwood-Bellis partnership. Jan is a great blocker of shots too. I think GB is now making more long clearances when under pressure so I am not sure I am wholly in agreement with you there Nick but I do agree some of the other defenders should make more use of them. Some of HBs long cross fields are wonderful, just a shame Sulemana is not given more playing time to take advantage of them. In that connection thought Brooks was again poor and Fraser, bar his offside goal, was not as good as prior to his injury. Sulemana and Shea Charles must be mystified about what Martin has against them. I can’t believe I am saying this but I thought the Manning substitution was pivotal to our win, his crossing particularly with the corners was critical. Just as well we were on the front foot and he didn’t have to do any defending. Not good for my heart all this though highly entertaining. If only Martin would learn some lessons I am sure this could be a lot more straightforward. As has been apparent for some time the Leicester and Leeds games will be crucial. |
| News Comment | Southampton V Coventry City The Verdict at 10:17:47
Agree entirely Flamingbankers, Fraser and Brooks have both been way off their games in the last few matches. Stubborn Martin will not give Sulemana a decent run though. I agree that when Stuart came on things calmed down but with the other substitutions made we had removed all attacking threat so we were forced to absorb much more pressure than we should have and in the end were perhaps fortunate to win. Bring on Sulemana and play a few balls over the top for him to run onto, that would force some of the opposition back. In fact mixing up our passing out from the back with a few more balls over the top throughout the game would undoubtedly keep the opposition guessing and help relieve pressure. Still an outside chance of automatic promotion and rotation will be necessary but Martin needs to up his game considerably. |
