Jimmy Dunne - undroppable

Marti implied in his post match interview that Dunne won’t be first choice RB.

Chair going going.......

If Chair and Dykes go, I can see us getting a decent striker in for a few million; which on balance makes for a positive transfer market for the squad and the balance sheet.

Dykes is our best striker.

Agreed - Frey was good.

there must have been a couple of million for Eze’s first England start? + of course Armstrong money and ending some hefty contracts this summer (eg, Willock, Adomah and Begovic)?

Plenty of 2nd gear, like Armstrong you mean? 😉

And so it came to pass - after 60 mins of competitive football in England: Celar was declared a flop.

I’m not sure I agree about needing to build around Chair… over two to three of the four seasons that he’s been a starter, he’s played second fiddle to Eze/BOS and Willock.

Cellar has played half a pre-season match and 2/3 of a championship match without Chair firing up the chances… hardly time to cast a vote?

Kolli had cramp according to Marti.

I agree re Paal.

I also think Marti (brilliant as he is) had an off day.

Marti has spoken - you’ll all be pleased to know:

“"I value the braveness of our players to try to play out from the back. Sometimes we need to go a little more direct against teams that are pressing so much.”

Put a big glass screen across the front of the upper tier. That’ll contain them and their pi$$ throwing antics.

I’ve long thought we should be giving the away fans X block (accessed via that alley) and the west paddock if needed… give the entire school end to the home fans.

Was top scorer for a long period last year and always gets a high score on gaffr (championship fantasy football).

We’re out of that three year cycle which killed us last year carrying the Austin, Johansen etc costs. Also with Willock, Begovic, a load of never-going-to-make-it-at-QPR’s gone + Eze England start fee + Armstrong fee we’re probably ok for this season… I guess.

…the Eze sell on would be nice, but probably not essential.

I don’t disagree on the basis that Chair is going (as you say) and if/when he does we will get good money for him to reinvest without the Eze money… so I’m not sure why you’re suggesting the ‘Eze money’ is so important on this basis (imho more of a game-changer of it happens and less a necessity).

…if Chair doesn’t go and we don’t get that chair or Eze money, we will have a fast attacking midfielder in Chair to work with Anderson and arguably Kolli (brought in slowly/in moderation)… and possibly Alfie Lloyd.

There is more leg room than ellerslie and SAR (1960’s)… still not ideal, but better.

Yes there is… it’s the same as Loftus road lower & Paddocks (90’s), which has more leg room than ellerslie and SAR stands (60’s) still tight, but better.

I like the work Nourry has put in already. I doubt very much that he has a different approach to Hoos - probably more a case that as a 26 or 27 y/o he has said to the owners ‘I’ve got 40 years of career ahead and if I’m here I don’t want you messing it up for me… so stay away, don’t take the wheel if you want me’… I imagine Hoos was more relaxed as he was winding down and would, I imagine, be less bullish.

…the real test as to how much control he has will come if/when we’re top six going into a January transfer window!
