Love the optimism, however I also think we would fail in the play offs but please god no penalties.... Anyway the Championship has been good to us Saints fans so far. Another year of winning more than losing would be nice and I fear next year in the Premier league would be very difficult for the team we support. |

It's Gay Soft porn, big, muscle bound, brutes in very tight trousers, loads of makeup and pantomime paddling grabbing and squeezing each other with inappropriate grunting... might appeal to some on here but not me! |

He was always a nasty player on the pitch, but unlike the likes of our own Terry Hurlock or Jimmy Case, it would appear he is not a quiet gentleman off it. It would appear he has quite an intellect but no brain and an ego the size of a continent. From stubbing out cigar in the face of young colleague to beating his partner in the street and now his verbal attack against women pundits, trouble follows this male human being (I refuse to call him a man). The sooner we all forget about him the happier the world will be. |

I really don't think there is much the footballing side of SFC can do if there is any offer of more than £5m made from a Premier league team I'm sure the board would accept it. If they didn't I'm pretty certain Che Adam's desire to give all to the club would be severely weakened. Do they/we really want a disgruntled player going through the motions disrupting the the first team or training with the under 23s? the best case scenario is there is no offer or one Che has no interest in and he decides to go out with a bang and firmly put himself in the shop window. |

In fairness, I wanted us to give Martin a chance, mainly because there didn't appear to be an obvious replacement. However, the run of games before and after as well as the 4 losses stretched my patience. It was all very seat of the pants stuff with little orno control you would have thought the possession percentages would have given us. Compounded to that R.M.'s ridiculous comments about scar tissue did not help. Obvious I'm very pleased SFC board had more foresight than some on this board. |

You can bet he knew how to hot-wire a car before he leaned how to "ping a 50m pass onto someone's toe" or not.... |

I was a couple of years older, but at Bellemoor School with the mighty Fannie Benali. It was also a place of Education for Craig David. Horrible place to be for many, but I was quite lucky. It paid to be not too bright or stand out for any particular reason except sporting prowess. |

Having watched the stream, especially in the second half, WBA were far more positive than Saints. Always looking for a forward pass and making probing runs off the ball. We, even more so once Manning was playing at left back, managed to move the ball from the wing in a threatening position on the edge of the attacking third, back to our goal keeper in two passes. Obviously inviting the pressure back onto our defence. If you're going to gift the ball away let it be in their penalty area not ours! We also never looked as vulnerable as we do at our own corners, a very good tactical foul by Holgate saved us big yesterday. |

Great call Cockle, IMHO the overall best restaurant in Southampton for quality and price. Carnicero (on Oxford St) or sister outlet The Olive Tree (Ocean Village) worth a try. Ocean Gill (also Ocean Village) is very good but a little expensive. |

Despite Nick's appeals for time and calm the cause of the disquiet is the results and unfortunately that is the sole responsibility of the manager and the people who employed them. Like most Saints fans I don't expect ( but would like) us to win more than we lose but I cannot forgive is our continued repeat of the same basic mistakes. Russel Martin claims he has been brought in to do certain things and play a certain way. IMHO surely those things were not to let in record numbers of goals and lose as many matches as possible. |

Well at least we should maintain or full division exclusion zone from or Blue East Hants neighbours. They'll get promoted as we get a second successive relegation! |
| Forum Reply | Jack Stephens a real leader of men at 18:29 22 Sep 2023
It's hard to believe anyone on here could question Jack Stephens abilities, quality, composure or talent. We have had the benefit of seeing him over a number years (good and bad), unlike the manager's few weeks. Now having learned of his influence over the team, as a leader of men, we Saints fans should brace ourselves for a bid from one of World Football's big names. Surely now Harry Maguire is past his best an England cap is only a formality. Well only if Mr Martin becomes new England Manager! |
| Forum Reply | Dyche at 18:41 15 Apr 2022
Shaun Dyche is a very cleaver manager, playing the tactics which suit his players, much like fat Sam or our own Claude Puel, Yes he would probably keep us up year on year, given a little backing from the Board, but the football would be terrible. Personally I would prefer to keep R.H. who, despite the once a season disaster, at least lets us relish a bit of pride in being saints fans on more occasions than not, with some great performances and bloodying the nose of the so called big 6 every once in a while. |

Look as many have said numerous times before me if you want to win every week support Liverpool or Man City. How do you think those Man City fans felt about the C.L. final last year or Liverpool felt about there last season's performance? Yes they can point at other recent triumphs? We are the same in some small way, we were hammered yesterday in an embarrassing capitulation, however we have recently blooded Chelsea's nose a number of times. Chelsea's performances in the their two games has been poor and they were due a recovery, unfortunately for use it was Saints in the crosshairs. It will come as no surprise to anyone on here Player by Player Chelsea have a better team than us. Again it is not unreasonable to argue their Manager and backroom team are better than ours as well. Given this it is not a massive surprise Chelsea should beat Saints every single time. Lets enjoy the wins when they come and try not to over react over a perfectly expected, albeit unecceptible, defeat. |
