Another Michael Caine Moment
at 08:20 6 Sep 2024

And the stone that built the first Wembley stadium was quarried from what is now the Rickmansworth Aquadrome and brought to Wembley on the Grand Union Canal.

Not a lot of people know that!

Jeez lads I come on here to try and get away from herself and her Pew joes, River Thems, modren, and all the other lovely Cork induced Hiberno-English pronunciation we are treated to by herself as me and the 3 girls sit looking at each other to see if anyone understood what mum is saying.

First time I went to the flicks without a parent in tow was the Evel Keneval FILUM (there is another Corkism)đŸ€Ș

Think it was The Jungle Book at a cinema in Wembley. Early 70s I think

It has a clear knock on effect too of delaying Whittingham’s post match report for those away day win occasions when the post-match Peroni based pizzups means he has to watch the whole thing again on the offy to remember anything at all from Friday night!!!

Yeah. They slow the video down as the ball is struck - they always do that.

With channel hopping because of Sky vvamkfest of Sterling to Arse did they award a MOM and was it Michy Frey tonight?.

Did I miss it being awarded because he was immense tonight.

Sky Sports Plus Farce
at 13:42 28 Aug 2024

I am on Virgin Media and had buffering issues last night all through the game - hence my sarky comment on the match thread about Sky outsourcing the Sports+ contract to a dodgy box company.

Pretty sure the Plym game last Saturday which was on the main Sky broadcast was perfect as it normally is on any Sky or TNT main broadcast channel, but I suspect that showing every game via the Red button must be putting some strain on Sky's server farm and network infra which is handling so many concurrent feeds from around the country.

Fortunately no buffering by the penalties!

Thoughts on Walsh for their goal.

Felt he was a bit slow getting on his toes and anticipation of a shot coming back at him.

Great strike though obviously

Thanks mate but I am fxxked if I am going to go and try and log on to my laptop when I have a 55” TV with Virgin TiVo box and 1Gb broad band and paying £80 a month for the full all singing all dancing tv and Sky Sports package.

More importantly I am hooked up to a tens machine and this performance is not doing my backache any good.

Need a better performance than this on Friday night - hopefully with the full strength 1st team.

Have Sky outsourced the + channels to one of the dodgy box companies?
Buffering every minute. Awful. Can see why they are not daring to charge extra for this ‘new’ football league channel

Finney.

Like many, I have only exchanged brief salutations with Finney at matches, either on the stairs at LR or on one occasion in the gents when we both had to strain the spuds ahead of one of the usual trousers down, bent over the desk, six of the best spanking at Craven Cottage.

Sending you prayers and positive thoughts Paul for a positive outcome and being the hardy little Norn Iron bastardo you are you will give the big C a spanking of its own

Eze release clause
at 11:38 17 Aug 2024

Re Eze release clause I read this as irrelevant to any contractual sell on agreement. The release clause allows an agent to tell a buying club where they need to pitch the offer so that the player gets a move if he wants out. Personally I think Ebs is one season short of being the main man at Palace and if Olise has gone then he steps up and becomes the main man. The flip side of this is Palace cannot sell all their assets every year so what happens to us if Ebs runs his contract down over the next couple of years and walk away - hopefully unlikely.

With regards to the other ‘assessments’ of the new arrivals after 2 games - God give me strength.

Cambridge- the carabao cup adventure starts here - match thread
at 23:03 13 Aug 2024

Ordinarily brother Bosh I would concur.

But we go two nil up and we are looking comfortable and should have had 4.

Then tried to lose the game for the next 60 mins.

If we scraped a last gasp 1-0 win, then fair enough but it was the manner of the capitulation- we did not lay a glove on them 2nd half and regardless of it being a league 1 club, that is not good enough.

Two gulps of Gaviscon and will now sleep on it and we move on.
