| Your Report | Southampton v Brentford Your Report added by SanMarco at 23:36:13 Embarrassing seems to be the word for the day and I can't better it for a description of that performance. Much has been said about RM but today proves that he isn't the only culprit for this fiasco of a season. Our transfer dealings in the summer were abysmal - the ownership seems to have thought that we could survive with a second division quality squad. Until we have owners who are less clueless I would suggest we might as well stay in the second division. |
| Your Report | Southampton v Brentford Your Report added by TimSaint at 20:11:51 Brentford won at a canter and didn't even need to get out of 2nd gear. Faster, Stronger, Better Set Up, Better Organised and wanted it more. We didn't turn up for the 1st half hour, but still managed to gift them the opener with a sloppy pass and after that it was just a question of how many. Piss poor defending throughout and nothing up front. My daughter said she could have played in goal for Brentford today and kept a clean sheet. Sugawara off the bench to gift the opposition a goal once again FFS. Don't know where we go from here, especially when you hear THB telling the Solent listeners that we were set up to win the game today !! |
| Your Report | Southampton v Brentford Your Report added by YosemiteSaint at 18:43:05 We don't have the personnel to compete in the EPL, and today it was made worse by the obviousness of our being in between two managerial systems. We didn't look like much of anything—save for cannon fodder. |
| Your Report | Southampton v Brentford Your Report added by silverspringsaint at 17:55:24 Embarrassing indeed! Other than perhaps Ramsdale and Dibling, no one showed up for work today. Very worrying - the lack of on field leadership and any new manager bounce. Getting worried now that we will “beat” that Derby Co. record … |
| Your Report | Queens Park Rangers v Watford Your Report added by Geoff78 at 23:03:22 A marvellous open match and probably Rs best game this season. Watford are a good team who attacked with pace and strength and moved the ball swiftly. But Rangers matched them and just about bettered them for most of the game until tiring in the final quarter. Even then we had chances to break and score again. What most struck me was that this was a game I haven't seen at Lotus Road for several seasons. Attractive football, unafraid, on the front foot, aggression - possibly a little too much at times, but so good to see Michi mixing it with the Watford defenders. We moved the ball forward with pace and Smyth was always a threat even when he looked knackered in the last 15 minutes, often stretching his back. I was surprised he wasn't subbed. In our attempts to play quickly we sometimes gave the ball away or made rash passes, but mostly recovered the situation and held firm. In fact Watford's goal needed the help of a deflection. So good to see us trying to play good football. The whole team played well. Field excelled in midfield, Chair probed intelligently, but Jimmy Dunne and Paul Smyth are becoming the stars of this team. Smyth shades MotM today for his constant running, pressuring the defence and he got his cross spot on for Field's header. |
