I upgraded to a Nintendo which had little control pads
i used to work out the Qpr fixtures on a c 64 thought that was dead hi tec great video going to show our kid when she gets back from france she thinks i was around in the Victorian days as it is.

Fabulous video, I was welling up. Shame there was no pic of Sally James, just a Tiswas one.
Me and my brother got hooked on Defender and 3D Monster Maze; "You hear footsteps, the monster is coming.." Mega! We also had a Tron rip-off, Lightriders. Then came Operation Thunderbolt, but that may well have been in the 90s. I loved that game and could usually get the arcade high score pretty quickly. Just as well, I was cr@p at those jump around and pick up bits of the spaceship games.

I used to dig dig dug. My favourtie early arcade game was Defender. Spent many an hour on that particular machine. Still if I'd have spent those 10p's on sweets I'd have false teeth by now.

My first console was the binatone which only played pong, upgraded to the Atari ( wooden console) and thought it can't get better than this, one morning off school sick I managed to go round the clock on space invaders. A company called activision started to sell Atari compatible cartridges, they produced frogger and a motor racing game that was superb at the time.
