Adel to Wolfsburg on 11:46 - May 22 with 1449 views | PhilmyRs | Take Adel out our side and we look short of ideas, short of creativity and you wonder where the goals will come from. Had it not been for a Lescot blunder I couldn't see how we were going to score against City. We need him, and I strongly believe he needs us. He now knows what it's all about, the effort, the fitness, the demands for results. One more year in the Premiership and the big boys will come calling. He has it in him to make it to the top, probably not with us, but he will...if he stays.
Adel to Wolfsburg on 11:49 - May 22 with 1437 views | daveB | well if Joey Barton is in hoops next season and Adel is sold I for one will be gutted, We shoudl give the kid a new improved contract and build the team round him. He was very good last season until the Fulham game where he was made the scapegoat, brilliant against Chelsea before he was again made the scapegoat against Spurs (very little was said about how crap Barton, SWP and co were in that first half) and then was told by the club he was being sold and to not come back so he went to France. When he was called back he gave it everything in the games over Christmas and was our best player and the difference between QPR with him in the team and without him under Hughes was massive. We'd be mental to sell him, most naturally talented player we'd have in over 20 years and with his new found work ethic he could be a superstar.
Adel to Wolfsburg on 11:58 - May 22 with 1405 views | nadera78 | I think Hughes has actually grown to like him and, unlike so many of the team, his performance against Stoke was very impressive. Constantly fighting for the ball, looking to produce something special to win the game. But if he wants to leave (like he did last year, and I think it took some persuading to sign him the first place) and he only has one year left on his contract, then you have a decision to make. Just checked and he turns 23 in a few days, leave it another year and he'll be 24 about a month before his contract runs out. That means we'll get nowt for him. You then decide if you want to get 3million for him now and sign a replacement or keep him for the year and let him go for nothing. Judgement call. And I guess it depends on who you have lined up.

Adel to Wolfsburg on 11:28 - May 22 by SpiritofGregory | The guy was great in the Championship but not all that in the Premier League. He does not fit into Hughes style of play. He is too much of an individual, he's not a team player. |
Laughable. Fitted perfectly into Hughes 'style of play'.

Adel to Wolfsburg on 12:17 - May 22 with 1358 views | SpiritofGregory | Not saying that I'll be happy to see him go, just saying that it wouldn't surprise me if he did leave. You never know what to expect from Adel. I want this matter to be resolved asap, we shouldn't have to tolerate a repeat of last season.

Spot on. It would cost far more than we would get for him to replace him, even if you could find a player like him that would want to play for us. In terms of his wages, any player as good as Adel would be demanding a big salary anyway so we would still have to pay up if we wanted to replace him. And has already been said, without him we rarely look like creating anything! [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

Adel to Wolfsburg on 12:36 - May 22 with 1293 views | SomersetHoops | The thing is we don't want the on - off - on - off mess up we had this time last year with PSG which left Adel with his head messed up and still at QPR, but not fully commited until later in the season. If he's going to go, best to to get it sorted early, so we can get a replacement and get a team together that works. I would prefer a fully commited Adel at QPR, but if he wants to move on best to get it done early. If he is going to stay its important that he shows his commitment by signing a contract extension or we could have him for a season going through the motion and leaving at the end of it on a free.

The flaw there is that the club can't force him to sign a new contract.
Adel to Wolfsburg on 12:44 - May 22 with 1266 views | theQPRking | Reportedly Adel was on about 20k in the Championship, he would of had a nice promotion bonus and promotion % increase in his contract too, so you could argue that he was probably being paid about 30k a week last season plus apperances, goal bonus etc etc.. Now in relation to the current football climate, is Adel worth 30k a week? Of course he is, in fact I believe he is worth double that. Adel is an asset to this football club, but he needs a new contract, and a long one at that. If we give him a big increase in wages he would be more likely to sign a long term contract, circa 3 to 4 years. If he sets the premiership alight next year his stock will quadruple, all the big clubs will be circling around our ASSET and he will most likely go. To command the sort of fee we expect to receive for such a gifted and integral player he needs a big contract. I'd like to see Agyemang's and Fitz's weekly wages added to Adel's current contract and it extended by 3 years please Mr Fernandes.
Adel to Wolfsburg on 12:50 - May 22 with 1242 views | Toast_R | Under no circumstances should the club be looking to sell their best player. TF's budget should be all geared out to sign Adel on a new contract at all cost. I would rather be paying £600 upwards to watch a team finish 17th with him init then a team play like Stoke and finish midtable.
Adel to Wolfsburg on 13:09 - May 22 with 1197 views | nadera78 | All these posts demanding the club give him an extended and increased contract are all well and good, but if he doesn't want to stay here then it's meaningless.
Adel to Wolfsburg on 13:12 - May 22 with 1188 views | BasingstokeR | I'd prefer him (AT) to stay. Over the last few seasons he's played he's the one player who's almost single handedly justified my ST; through both the sublime and ridiculous. Always worth a watch. THE Swansea goal alone is one of the best things I remember seeing live at football. If we're paying Barton and SWP however much; I'd gladly trim one of those to help with keeping Adel if it was a money thing. And much rather people when they find out I'm a QPR fan - ask me about Adel and not the latest Barton fiasco real or electronic. But I reckon if Adel left - its not a money thing - he just wants to try something else now, unless it was to go back to France and then the "family" thing has been mentioned before.
Adel to Wolfsburg on 13:23 - May 22 with 1161 views | TacticalR | This is not the first time the sale of Taarabt to Wolfsburg has been mentioned. I've said the same thing each time: this would be a bad move for Taarabt because the Wolfsburg manager Felix Magath is a notorious disciplinarian. 'Players gave him nicknames like “Saddam” (Saddam Hussein) or “Quälix”, a mash of his first name Felix and the German verb “quälen” (to torture).' http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Felix_Magath

Probably what was needed after the Wally with the Brolly.
Adel to Wolfsburg on 13:44 - May 22 with 1108 views | R_from_afar | Taarabt is the only player with any guile and without him, we have looked short of ideas. He now seems to have a much better idea of when to pass and when to go it alone; remember that he can't be completely selfless AND score thunderbolts from 25 yards. If you remember the Stoke game, you will realise he has improved his tracking back and tackling too. Keep him. RFA
| "Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1." |

Adel to Wolfsburg on 13:54 - May 22 with 1088 views | Nov77 | Second highest assists this season (behind SWP!), hit the woodwork five times. By FAR our most creative player. Would rather see the club get rid of Barton and use some of his wages to offer adel a new contract.

Adel to Wolfsburg on 14:16 - May 22 with 1054 views | Jamie | I know we all joke about how incompetent the club is, but do we really believe that when the club were tying up new deals for Hill, Buzsaky, Cerny that nobody thought 'Taarabts contract is running out' and to enquire with his agent whether he would consider a new deal? IF we are talking with other teams, and it is IF, it is because Taarabt wont discuss a new deal.
Adel to Wolfsburg on 14:16 - May 22 with 1055 views | timcocking | I've said it before and i'll say it again (maybe i'm a little biased), Adel is the most exciting player i've ever seen, and I'd swap him for nobody. Or Messi if you absolutely insisted.

Of course, Adel could be talking to other teams in order to force us to offer him what he wants.
