Yeah if we by some miracle stay up this cost cutting will either have one of these outcomes.
A: We will be sold and have new owners who know running a football club ,costs money and have the ambition to at least half roll the dice. (The books being balanced will give new owners a clean run at building something)
B: This is the long term plan and our owners , have more wiggle room financially to actually challenge for a play offs spot (after the squad we come down with this is sad)
C: We go down 📉
If we go down we are actually probably going back to being a mid table league one team.
I don’t care as I am Swansea Till I Die, but we will end up ground sharing with the ospreys.
If Luke doesn’t do something special we are screwed.
Our club’s future is looking bleak the only way that the owners will pull this back is by Ben , Liam , Harry getting long term contracts.
I would rather them being signed to long term deals than signing an extra player today.

The club has far too many additional expenses for the size of its income. The Chairman takes a large wage, Head of Communication takes a decent wage. There are Sports analysts are all sorts of different levels of team. We have 2 state of the art facilities at Landore and Fairwood and the staff needed to run them. They all take money away from the pot used to produce the First team, yet the only revenue generation comes from the performances of the First team.
The loss against Wycombe means that there is no lucrative home fixture against Villa. That is at least £500k of lost opportunity. A sell out gate against Villa, a few hundred with renewed interest on the league gate. Maybe TV revenue from the game etc.
The only way the club increases revenue is through success with the first team. They need to cut out the wasted wages away from the team and focus on developing the foundations of a successful team. | | | |

The club did not lose £18M last season it was the season before the accounts are a year behind, we will receive last seasons figures up to 31st July this year in August next year. Last season we sold Piroe in August, £10M? and received the second payment in July, both in last years accounts due out in August next year. In July this year, last month, we paid off 5 loan charges again in last seasons accounts due out next August, did we use the Piroe money to pay off the loans? why did we pay off the loans when we could have just serviced them as we had been doing for several years it would have been far cheaper? What is the reason for clearing the club of debt instead servicing it, a cheaper option like many clubs do. I will leave the more intelligent of you to draw your own conclusions. The fact is by clearing the debt all at once we end up with player purchase/contract strategy we have. Yes the club could not continue to run up massive debts, but if Piroe had been sold a couple of weeks earlier The £18M debt of the season before last would have been closer to £8M. Play with figures if you like but the fact is the club is now debt free with a low cost base, not one to likely to challenge for promotion, but a very attractive purchase option. Hopefully we will win today and be in the top six, but long term I can not see the current strategy benefiting the supporters or players. |  | | |

Poor performances will lead to apathy amongst the supporters who will then vote with their feet, lowering the clubs income further, the owners are banking on the team being strong enough to stay in the Championship.
The post above about the amount of personnel behind the scenes is correct, surely there must be people who are capable of covering a few roles instead of what seems to be like an employee for each role.

Sorry but that's a pile of nonsense. Again. You clearly do not understand how the accounts work for a football club and the financial rules.
Young players only increase in value if they improve. If they are bought for x amount and dont improve or even get worse then their value won't rise. Even then other things come into play such as the clubs financial position, promotion or relegation, or even how hard nosed the owner/chairperson is.
As an example, Abdullai, his value has stagnated in my opinion. He has shown nothing to interest other championship clubs and lower placed clubs can't afford to pay a premium. Well Birmingham did go crazy this week but that'll probably come back to bite them. | | | |
