Chedzoie Ogbene 22.9 mph Fastest in PL from what i read Kylian Mappe 22.4 mph Lique 1 Tyreek Hil 23.4 mph NFL wide reciver Raheem Mostert 22.73 mph NFL running back Louis Reess Zammett 24 mph Rugby Union Przemysław Płacheta 24 mph SWANSEA CITY Christian Wade 25.7mph Rugby /NFL This is not a rigorous study just a quick estimation this evening. As has been state above the first two yards are in your head. We have seen Grimes and Fulton covering back and pressing forward well at times but they don't get into the right positions to do both effectively as often as they should but also even more so after Martin's style of football which seem to acknowledge the need to pass and move when coming out of defence but also sometimes the initial passer instead of moving forward holds his ground while the person playing the wall pass peals away taking the opposition player away leaving initial passer time to either press forward or be able to pick his passes with the time given . But between Grimes and Fulton we are not getting that right choices of movement leaving us open to a properly executed press everything gets too compact to progress forward, same can be said about our movement further up field or lack of it. To be fair to Williams he has got the movement of the ball across the back four much quicker enabling quicker passes forward for the runs of Ronald but when Grimes drops deep that stopped quite markedly as shown against Plymouth after the substitutions were made. Placheta had his space closed down by the defenders as well as by his own players, where as on the right Sagoe JR didn't have any options in the middle of the park as other midfielders either pushed too high or dropped too deep.

100% this. grimes causes us as many problems as the oppo when he is in defensive mode. He needs 30 seconds to think about a pass and won't play a 60/40 forward pass when there's a safe back pass on. Then having passed backwards he drops back himself blocking options, leaving the space where he should be empty and encouraging the oppo to push up on us. When he's got his adventurous head on he's a good player but that's all too rare. maybe Williams can change that. Otherwise he really needs to drop Grimes because there is only one player who is always first on the team sheet and always on the pitch when we are slow and negative.

The guy behind us, he comes out with wise cracks and has a dry sense of humour. He calls Fulton Brian. When someone asked him why, he said it’s because he is a snail. He’s right.

I quote Gyorkeres quite often to demonstrate the club views of forward player in particular is short term and perhaps even dysfunctional. We have an academy / CoE with not a single 6 ft centre forward of note since they were formed. It is a club blind spot. Mykola does not play because he is raw and would occasionally miss-control the ball. A big unit strong on the ball. Just like big Vik is. Vik took 18 months to become rouded and bingo worth £20m rising to £80m. Cooper dropped the ball. Watson has bought potential and Coleman would be wise to back him. The fact that Mykola cannot get in the team does not mean he would not be highly effective if he did. Kristian Fletcher was a revelation and reportedly 'on trial' . Find one comment by "Wrighty" praising him.

And the saddest part of that is he doesn't have to be. He's got all the tools he needs to be a serious influence on us going forward. He just needs a manager who won't indulge his defensive instincts. Potter and Duff are the only coaches in his near ten years as a Swan to get a tune out of him going forwards. The rest of them have either not picked him, or convinced themselves that he's of more value with simple ball retention than anything else, which is, of course, a nonsense. Sadly it appears unlikely that Williams, with his adherence to the modern style advocated by his mentor Martin, will change that.
