Should we sack Russ on 19:34 - Aug 7 by union_jack
Depends very much as to whether there’s any transfer pot. Would we want him to buy players to play this style only to find out they are like the rest of the team.
It won’t happen but I’d rather him go now than wait.
Let’s not fool ourselves that he’s only had 2 games. He’s had a season and a pre-season and nothing fills me with any confidence at all. He’s had all the time in the world and we’re going nowhere. Well, apart from in the wrong direction probably.
We could rid ourselves of his wages and manage without him.I genuinely believe we would be better off with no manager as he is killing players.
Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Sack him.after 2 games? Wow
it's not just 2 games though, as has been said before, it's the whole 11 months. 11 months in and we look worse than at the beginning. Then there's his statement that he won't change, we will continue playing the same way.
He is too arrogant to accept he is wrong and needs to change his tactics and selection to best suit the resources available. He is going to continue with square pegs in round holes and this slow, soul destroying football.
Lets see what happens the next few games I guess, he won't be getting sacked right now but I honestly believe he will lead us to relegation if he continues on this road. We cannot afford the players he needs to play this way and what he have got are just playing us into trouble.

I’m the same. Let’s reassess end of the month
The window closes at the end of the month. Would you give him more money? Other teams are laughing at his tactics and he thinks it's because we are hard to beat. After a 0-3 home defeat and he thinks that they are annoyed at how hard we are to beat. Deluded

It's the manner of the defeats, I have backed him from day one, but even I'm beginning to doubt him.
Things need to change and quick
What will.it cost us to sack him.and his whole team? A couple.of million?

Every pre season game and the first two games we have given away stupid goals . No. Improvement on the countless times we did last year. It's not going to improve. I have lost faith in the hope I had for this season

I’d give him to the end of August. Think that would be a fair period
I’d say that sounds fair too.
We don’t want to put ourselves in a position where it’s hard to recruit a manager as lots won’t want a relegation on their CV. If we leave it too late then our pool of potential managers gets thinner and thinner.
So while some say “give him until January” and such like, they don’t seem to be thinking of the potential consequences of a late decision being made. Not to mention another wasted window.
We have Piroe money potentially sat there if we don’t price him out of a move. He wants to go and it’s within our interests to let him.
£15m and I’d take it.
£2.5m (complete guess) to pay off Russ and his team. £1m to get a new management team in place. £4m to replace Piroe. £2m to get some wing backs… bank the rest.
Move on.
Swansea Independent Poster of the Year 2021 and 2022.
I've given him time and the benefit of the doubt, but that performance was disgusting.
He's had his preseason. He's had his season of transition. Yet still the same excuses. We were told last season that the players weren't conditioned to play his way. What a joke.
Not sure what managers are realistically available. Try and get Toshack from Leeds? At least he's had some level of success. Then again, would cost money. Just sick of it all.

not going to happen these guys that own the club will not spend money they have given a budget thats gone so we have what we have, these owners have done NOTHING in real terms to improve the club apart from the chap who was there last saturday the rest would rather watch DC untd and pay Rooney and Benteke more than peanuts and show NO REAL intrest in Swansea but unless they invest they will be the owners at the next levelDOWN

For start, stop behaving like a prat , there’s no need for it. People have differing views, stop having a go at people just because they have a different view to you. I’ve had a few complaints about your posts and have not deleted them but please just post politely.
To answer your question, and if you have read my earlier posts, I am starting to lose faith in what he is trying to do. The theory behind it makes sense, trying to pass the ball at speed, tire the other team out and then put it away when their fitness goes is a sound one.
However the continual messing around at the back, aimless passing around with no clear end goal is testing everyone’s patience plus his complete refusal to do anything else is bewildering.
It is only the second game of the season. I’d imagine he will be given to the end of September so we will have the transfer window plus a month to see where we are. If we lose the next few league games in the matter we lost today whilst sticking rigidly to this system, he may go earlier.
Personally, I think the players and fans will do it for him in the end.
He's a schoo;kid. Just put him on ignore Sir JAL.

25% think he should stay? There must have been a few Cardiff fans infiltrating - I think the verdict from the stadium was more or less emphatic on Saturday.

Eight of us. I give him until the end of September to improve ( that is 11 league games in total )
Our last win was at home to relegated Derby 8 games ago since then we drew with a poor Barsnsley after finding our selves 1 down at home . threw away a 3 goal advantage to resuce a draw at Reading, scraped another draw at home after finding ourselves behind yet again then throwing away another 3 goal lead at home to get away with a draw before being battered once again by Forest and failing to win at home to a scratch QPR side...
This season we scraped a draw at Rotherham who last season were in Div 1 whilst Oba missed that sitter which could have won the game they kept Fisher far more busy than we did their keeper ...then there came Saturday . Since our last win we have gone backwards at a rate of knots culminating in Saturday's debacle the pre season friendlies were no great shakes either but of course we were told to take no store by these "friendlies".
What makes you think he wiil get things sorted during the next 11 games.
Read the posts the majority of the fans who post on here can see the issue(s) yet this manager who many put on a plinth as a guru still believes he is right to persist with his plan.
I would nt give him 11 mins more in charge let alone 11 games. In his career he has never managed a winning run of more then 5 games
I have concerns about WInter too as it seems he is giving MArtin complete control over the footballing side of the club.

Couldn’t agree more. He’s finished, the fans know it, the club know it and the players certainly look like they can’t wait for him to go.
It’s all about making the break before it’s too late now, it would take a brave decision from the club but if fans vote with their feet we’ll lose as much money keeping him on than sacking him.
I love my football but he’s turned home games into a chore and an embarrassment. God knows how out traveling support must feel sometimes.

Yep I am in this camp as well.
Blackpool away Millwall home Luton home Boro away Stoke away
Before the end of August.
We are so predictable to play against, sit back watch us pass the ball sideward's lose possession & get done on the counter.
Not sure if I want Martin spending money on players this month (if there is any).
I don't think it's goin to magically change around, so definitely don't give him any funds if there is any. This is a decent enough squad, it's the tactics that are hamstringing us.
