Gotta feel sorry for Oxford, they'll never have a better chance to finally win a major trophy at Wembley.

There were some great tunes in 1986. We beat Chelsea and Liverpool. Can't remember anything else happening.

Poll: QPR to finish 7th or Brentford to drop out of the top 6?

My point is you don't see a team like that anymore. Imagine Oxford now having Aldridge, Houghton etc. They'd be cherry picked. Sure I was peeved but a great achievement for them.

A pointless comparison. Oxford finished 5th from bottom of the first division in ’86, the same position Crystal Palace are at the moment. I’m sure in the future when Palace are knocking around the 3rd tier they will look back at today’s team of Benteke, Saha and Sakho and drool about how they would be pi$$ing their league if they were in their team today. None of that matters because (as I'm sure you'll recall) there was a dispute over TV rights and the first half of the ’86 season wasn’t televised so the rest of the season was considered null and void and the remaining games were played out for shits and giggles.
