What’s your view on the prospect of Sports Republic selling?
at 20:01 28 Apr 2025

I'd be over the moon if they sold. They are terrible owners. 2 relegations in 3 years and 6 different managers. It's a shambles.

What is the point of owning a club, to just be 15th at best in the PL? And that's if you're lucky not be relegated. If you buy a football club, surely you want a successful team on the pitch at the highest level and that costs money. If you're an owner who doesn't wish to buy top quality players for 60 million plus each, then what's the point of never getting anywhere? If you want to make money, buy some gold or advance a business. These owners, I just don't understand why they are here.

Have we Saints fans done something awful in a previous life?
at 22:42 26 Apr 2025

We played really well in the first half. But had we had that extra quality, we would have gone 2 or 3 up and we likely get something from the game. Being only one nil, they equalise and we all knew what would happen next. I agree, the players gave everything today. But it's not enough. We struggle to score, they score more than us, because the opposition always have more quality. We just might get something next week at Leicester because they are terrible too.

Wrexham promoted to the Championship today. I can't say I can remember playing them, and have never been to their ground.

I think he showed that he has something. He was very rusty today, but he has been out for two years on and off. Similar to tall Paul, he is a presence up front but Stewart also has pace. He used to also score a lot of goals at Sunderland, so let's hope he can get good (if he stays injury free). I can see that he could be useful next year.

He is having a fantastic game. Scored a goal, doing fist pumps, getting the team going. I've met him, he's a Saint without a doubt. The only player to clap the fans before the game today and after our recent defeats. He will be one of the few players here next season. Not sure why he gets so much stick. The fans all singing his name today!

Everton Game Tickets
at 13:02 26 Apr 2025

Wouldn't make sense because we are only down to ST holders who have been to 5 away games. When I rang on Friday, they told me only 500 tickets were left. They could easily be sold by those who have been to 5 away games and less. And as has been mentioned, they can't give us a bit of the upper tier and segregate.

We will definitely sell this out. Some of our older, sentimental fans will want to be there for the final game at Goodison Park. Not only that, it's the final away game of the season.

Neither are my favourites but congratulations to Leeds and Burnley.

Not a proper, experienced, proven centre forward by any chance? A player that we should have signed, rather than an injured one?

Shameful by Southampton Football Club
at 12:11 21 Apr 2025

As long as something makes a profit (for SR), nothing else matters. These are the type of people who own our club. They don't care about their supporters, just their profit. That's the way our wonderful game has gone, but this lot couldn't give two sh!ts about the fans.

It's because not only is it the final away game of the season (the last away game is always popular regardless of who we play), but many Saints fans also want to witness the occasion. We will easily sell out this allocation. This year, we have sold out every away game that I can remember, 3000 yesterday at West Ham, 3000 at Newcastle on the opening day, 3000 at Spurs, 3000 at Liverpool, 3000 at both Manchester clubs. I can't think if a game we haven't sold out. So why wouldnt we take the full allocation? Admittedly, Everton is usually one of the least popular, but this year being the final away game, and also the final game at Goodison, it will be popular. I probably wouldn't normally go up there for a 12pm kick off, but I will be going to this one.

We will have to see. I think he would be good. In theory, he will be better with better players, but some good points have been made to the contrary. Never been promoted, 15th in the championship. Why don't we just bring in an experienced, manager who has proven ability to win promotion?

Why because:
SR like potential
SR like cheap
SR don't like managers who know exactly what they are doing, telling them how to do things.
SR don't like.managers telling them who to buy. They want players they can sell on for a profit only.

I wonder what could be done to change things? 🤔

Ticket costs

It's because if Saints fans don't buy the tickets, Arsenal.fans and tourists will. So SR still get their money at that price. They don't care about the true Saints fans.

Totally agree. They can't even get in a championship team, these players. And to think Bereton Diaz was bought to help us in the PL. He's probably average in the championship but not the PL. Sport Republic really are absolute idiots.

Yep, so anyone buying a ticket, COULD be asked to collect their ticket from Goodison Park with ID, to reduce the risk of it being sold on. There are Everton fans on social.media offering over a thousand pounds for a ticket. If you buy a ticket and sell it to an Everton fan you could be in big trouble as both clubs know about the goings on! And you would have to travel all the way to the ground, to then pass it on if that was anyones intention. I think it's a good idea. It would be a big security risk, if loads of Everton fans were in the away end.

The Next Managerial Appointment
at 13:30 17 Apr 2025

The problem is again, any manager will struggle, if those above the manager, don't get the recruitment right. This is partly why so.many managers have failed, particularly in the PL, where it's absolutely essential to have QUALITY players, or you won't survive regardless. We try to make a profit and do things on the cheap. Easier to compete in the championship, but if and it's a big if, we go up again, we will struggle again, with SR because they arn't prepared to spend the money needed on the team. Managers arn't miracle workers, they need to have good players, particularly in the PL, where it's just about money. I hope it's Rohl, but he needs to be properly supported.

What is free speech?
at 12:48 17 Apr 2025

Interestingly, yesterday the court stated that only a biological man can use male spaces like toilets and only a biological woman can use female spaces. I think that's sensible but it's only come about because "men dressed as women" were using female spaces, saying it was their right. This is an example of where we have to be careful about what "rights" people have, and where freedom of speech is so important.
