If one of the covenants says that we have to play football there then we are bang in trouble

They can do lots more. They could make the club nearer the top of their agenda. They could run it like they run their other businesses - I bet you if any PR consultant they hired to do an analysis at Westport recommended their own services as the solution they would laugh in their face.

They can sort out the Nourry mess. They can sort out the ongoing Loftus Road debacle - soon our capacity will be under 15k. They could come up with a plan and communicate it to the fans. They could make a decent footballing decision.

I think they are good honest people, I respect the fact they keep us alive, but come on chaps, give it some love and attention.

Very true. Imagine paying off a manager as good and popular as Marti to leave. That would truly take the biscuit.

It's an absolute joke. i wonder how it's done - can't imagine it is the employees themselves but more like a consultancy or agency that they use for PR. Terrible.

I am so fed up with the way our club is run. Do you think Brighton or Brentford or Palace spend time and resources on this rubbish to manipulate the fans?

What gets me is that allegedly Reynolds is worth $350m, whereas Ruben is worth $1.6bn.

Yet it's us that will get restricted by FFP.

Possible next managers...

Not a hope in hell our hierarchy could get someone as good as Rohl, or the Plymouth bloke.

Will be an unknown (probably best), someone hateful (hello Nathan Jones) or someone incredibly stupid (hello Wayne).

I still hold on to a dream that Marti stays, but more chance of getting Pep than that it seems.

I would check out Rob Edwards.

I don't understand the ins and outs of how journalism works, but in a wild guess I suppose it won't do Nourry any harm to get this info out into the public domain?

Sob. Don't even know to think Marti is letting us down or if he is simply looking for alternative jobs when the inevitable happens. Whatever, seems the writing is now all over the wall.

Marti on today and his position going forward

True, sadly. I read today that Wrexham's declared income last year was bigger than most in the Championship apart from the parachute payments clubs.

Wouldn't surprise me if Dunne went there.

Yes, that was definitely me as well, Brian. Would rather have a club to moan about than none at all. But if they back Nourry ahead of Marti (or more like, don't bother to do anything about it) then I have run out of final straws. I think they are honest, likeable people so not advocating protests - more like a polite joint request to possibly take a little more interest, perhaps make some better decisions or please find someone to sell to?

I know our financial situation, but in this day and age there are plenty of mega rich around who want to get into English football. We are hardly that unattractive a proposition being in West London, owning own ground and training ground, one promotion away from their golden ticket, are we?

I also think, though, better the devil you know. A la Reading, etc etc. I dunno. I want some rich, kindly genius capable of making good decisions and actually being there every week and having it as a priority. Not much to ask, I know!

I think it's an interesting point and Clive has hinted at it in various reports. I don't think there is anything like the collective urge to push against the tide that there used to be. Either the crowd has changed, or there is now much more of a thought that QPR should know their place and be happy with it.

I said the same to my son on the way out - 20/30 years ago people would have been ripping the seats out if we had lost 0-5 at home. Even in a dead rubber!

Like you say - I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing.

Maybe it's an age thing - people of our vintage still can't quite believe we are the lowest club in the whole of West London or teams like Palace reaching the cup finals that we should have done in our glory.

Maybe we are just bitter and the younger lot want to cheer us on = good thing :-)

All fanbases have their nutters and morons. Cardiff are no different, except possibly they have a few more than most.

I won't ever forget leaving the Millenium Stadium, admittedly, but was that really their fans? Surely their fans were in the stadium celebrating straight after the final whistle. Local rent a yob more like.

Also - I am sure I wasn't the only one walking away from Wembley post Zamora who saw our own "fans" giving the Derby coaches a pretty vile send off. You can't judge fan bases on days like these, when 20,000 more suddenly appear from nowhere.

I am much more concerned about Wrexham being in our league with all their hangers on and the media obsession. I am really hoping that the Championship brings them down to earth with a bang.

Nailed on our first game of the season will be at the Ryan Reynolds Arena and we get drowned under the circus.

Regardless of what you think of how good a manager he is or has been, how can any QPR fan watch that interview and not love the guy? What he says here about the fans (around the 6:00 mark), surely the nicest thing any manager has said about us.

I said it before, I think he's done an excellent job personally, not flawless, but I don't think it's a crime to actually really like your manager almost come what may. It's the kind of support that should provide a little long-term stability and who knows...success? I keep thinking back to Warbs and although he wasn't adored in the same way, he was a class act on and off the field and removing him was nothing but damaging.

And I know, if we did go well I am sure Marti would up sticks to a bigger club without a second thought. Or maybe not, watching this, if he got support from behind the scenes.

Oh yeah - don't get me wrong, no issue with Ashby's behaviour as he came off, thought he conducted himself well, actually. Just thought it hammered home Clive's point in the preview that the vast majority of paying punters trot along perfectly happy every week and don't find it quite the agonising be-all and end-all that a few others do. I know they are the healthier ones.

It was exactly the same last home game under Ainsworth, I thought most would be giving the pathetic loanees a piece of their mind - they were actually more interested in getting their shirt or a photo or giving them a clap.

Not in a million years saying they are wrong and I am right, just a real reminder that most people follow the club in a sane way :-)

Well you were spot on Clive about the difference between the message board and the paying Loftus Road faithful. Personally, could barely be bothered to look at Ashby when he was subbed, after his extremely ordinary loan spell, yet others see it differently and were getting signatures and asking for selfies.

I wish I could be that relaxed about my support of QPR, to be honest, then they probably wouldn't give me the hump as much as they do.

We all paid to watch that utter slop, those who stayed were treated to the shambles of Burnley celebrating on our pitch for far too long, then the tone deaf DJ playing Silver Lining without a hint of irony, and watching our players (and families - of course the families) trapse around the pitch to give some half-hearted applause. What joy. Did enjoy seeing Harvey Vale clapping the fans - erm wasn't sure what to clap him for. Signing? Good signature, son, well done.

However, was worth it to get the mouthed thankyou from Marti though. His quotes about the fans tonight were really lovely. What a gent, will really miss him if he goes.

On a final note, totally against my distaste of loans, but really agreed with Edwards' standing ovation. If nothing else he stopped Burnley getting 8 today, but generally for commitment and class that is definitely as impressive a loan spell I've seen since Walker. Fair dos.

Marti ahead of the Burnley game

That made me laugh! Deadpan Dave, always has been.

I find it very interesting that in his latest podcast Dave said that WLS is going to get back to the job of the local media, and really push and investigate what is happening at QPR. I think we need that and have missed it in the last few months.

I can disagree with WLS on occasion, but the club needs holding up to the light.

I understand what you are saying and there is plenty you can criticise him with. Thing is, isn't it OK just to like the guy? Not even for any outstanding football reasons, I just think he has given the place a lift, with his persona....and with the chant. It's fun to have a manager that the majority seem to like and get behind and sing about, compared to the normal moans, groans and critiques every two minutes.

I know that's a bit base, but it is about my level :-).

He is similar to Warbs in my book, only difference really being that Warbs' didn't have a good chant. At all.

I was sad when we lost Warbs and I will be sad when we lose Marti. As you say, though, the Rangers will roll on. In the wrong direction, no doubt.
