Honestly, I have no idea what Madsen's role is. Someone said he is a number 10. He certainly doesn't play like a number 10. Also, Anderson has taken a major step back since last year. The two of them should be the ones receiving the ball in midfield and creating something that the wide players or strikers (Dembele, Saito, Smyth, Celar, and Frey) can play off. There is noone playing that role which is why whenever we have the ball it always seems to be going backwards or side to side For today's goal, Debele picked up the ball deep in our half, ran with it and slotted the ball into Frey -- effectively he way a midfielder and attacker at the same time. That is not sustainable. Maybe when Chair comes back he will complement Anderson in a way that makes them both better and serve that critical role. |

Anderson. He has been terrible this season. He really isn't contributing. When he gets the ball he is slow and either coughs it up or gets caught in possession. I don't know what happened in the off season but he has seriously gone off the boil. Frey has been great up front and Dembele has been the best of the bunch from the new lads. |

Well the OP predicted it perfectly. I'd say connell to start the match threads for the rest of the season then! We smashed it in the penalties. Four great penalties from the Rs. Well done lads. We definitely looked second best during the 90 minutes though. Too many stretches when we couldn't put together anything in the oppositions half. There is plenty of talent on display but they need an offseason to gel. Doing that during the season is always risky. On to tomorrow's cup draw. URRRRRRRRRRRRsss!!! |

It’s good business for us because he was awful and we got some money for him. I would’ve happily taken two bags of crisps and a packets of polos for him. A striker who doesn’t score is just taking up space |

I saw an article that said we have agreed a 3.75M (Euros) transfer fee for Madsen from KVC Westerlo. I really don't know what to make of that as I've never heard of the player and I cannot imagine where we got that kind of money (even if it is amortized, etc.) Edited post to add the following: Madsen is Danish and KVC Westerlo are Belgium. And, Wikipedia already has him as a QPR player (and wikipedia wouldn't lie, would it?) Anyone? [Post edited 21 Aug 18:43]

So, it turns out that I am a relatively new fan. Who knew? My first game was in the Spring of 1973. We beat Spurs 3-1, with Stan scoring twice and I was hooked. 50 years of misery and disappointment later, still hooked. URRRRRRRRRRsss!!! |

So Dembele and Koki Saito both appear to be wingers. That would mean that we would have three tasty wingers to choose from each week. Nice. Dembele was born in Lambeth. |

For what its worth, Wikipedia already says that QPR signed a deal for Dembele in August 2024. There is nothing on the offish yet though, so I won't believe it until it is listed on the offish Also, for what it's worth, Wikipedia has nothing about us and Koki Saito. To be fair, it doesn't say too much about the lad, although Wikipedia lists him as a midfielder (not a striker, as in the article). In his career he has a total of 25 goals in 152 appearances, not really striker numbers. |
