 | Forum Reply | Yates at Derby at 23:39 20 Feb 2025
Considering how poor Derby have been all season, it's remarkable how highly their fans rate Yates regardless. It's almost as if they believe that performances are just as valuable as goal tallies. Certainly his Derby career casts into significant disrepute the kind of nonsense spewed about him by some of our own based on Luke Williams' incompetence when it comes to attacking players. |

It was true. And everything that has been said about Reeves appears to be too. |

Whether you accept it or not makes no difference to the numbers. They are what they are. A decrease of 100 when you're talking about thousands in total is a couple of percentage points at most. And thats using the obviously flawed 20/30 mph figures. It's beyond bonkers that people are genuinely crowing about it. But that's how tinpot administrations work. They make changes and then rig the figures to justify their decisions, when in reality it should be the other way around. It's the same thing with Minimum Unit Pricing. All the independent studies suggest that it's a complete waste of time, so the WG and Scottish Parliaments pay people to provide stats that support them. |
 | Forum Reply | Ban at 11:13 20 Feb 2025
Just like people will not accept that the change in such figures is statistically negligible and of the sort of variation that can happen from year to year anyway and thus without proper analysis cannot seriously be trumpeted as a benefit at all. |
 | Forum Reply | Ban at 07:26 20 Feb 2025
Indeed. If the data clearly showed an improvement in safety on roads that had been reduced to 20mph they'd be trumpeting it long and loudly. That they're trying to spin things by fudging the stats tells "most half sensible people" precisely what's happening. |

Sousa did what he could with what he had available. People seem to forget that he improved on our league position of the season before despite taking over a team shorn of it's best striker and creative midfielder, never mind a decimated coaching and scouting staff and chairman showing the first signs of an attitude problem. Oh, and a club captain trying to undermine him from behind. It wasn't fun, but it was effective and Rodgers had a lot to thank him for when he took over. I for one have always appreciated the work he did here. Had we snuck promotion and had access to Premier League wealth in any theoretical Sousa second season, we'd have had a decent chance of survival IMO. Might not have gone on to the heights we did, but we'd certainly not have embarassed ourselves. In comparison Cooper & Martin certainly had the players available to them both to play a much more entertaining style of football than they did, but chose not to. Cooper did so out of tactical preference, Martin did so because he's an idiot. [Post edited 20 Feb 7:22]

 | Forum Reply | Swansea City : Go for number one, save time looking for second best at 16:49 18 Feb 2025
Of the names listed so far O'Neil is the only one I'd be vaguely interested in. Ryan Mason for me may turn out to be a good coach, or he may turn out to be another Paul Clement. I would much rather see us go for someone with at least five years actual head coach experience behind him. To be honest I'd rather look abroad. |

I'd like to see a 4-3-3 Vig Key Cabango Delcroix Tymon Franco O'Brien Eom Bianchini Vip Ronnie Franco sitting deep. Eom at #10. There's no shortage of work rate from Bianchini or Ronald either, so they should be able to do the same kind of job that Nathan Dyer used to in terms of covering the fullback. |

The whole "we won't appoint a manager who we have to shell out compo for because we're tight bastards" thing comes out every time we are looking for a manager and only adds to my contempt for many Swans fans. We've paid compo for our last three managers. Four of the last five. |

There are a lot of people who will think that "Welsh Heritage" is a thing to be taken into account rather than something that should be utterly ignored in this process. |
 | Forum Reply | 🔴 Likely candidates for the Swans job at 20:04 17 Feb 2025
Yeah. With a subs bench nine deep there's no real excuse not to have a keeper on it. Eight outfield options should be enough for any coach. |
 | Forum Reply | 🔴 Likely candidates for the Swans job at 19:56 17 Feb 2025
"Evatt frequently decides against naming a substitute goalkeeper on the bench, preferring to have more attacking options and has had outfield players do goalkeeping training, just in case. Evatt will sometimes bring on attacking players when winning matches rather than defensive players, preferring to score more goals than defend a lead." Clearly not right for us... |

Innit. If all Football Radar did was look at players of interest to L2 and National League clubs then they wouldn't have much of a product to sell. |

Perhaps not as much as the supporters think he does? Most of what is said is pure speculation. It certainly seems that the rest of the board members just aren't there for decoration. Much like the talk about Montague coming here specifically because of Williams and LW's job being secure as a result, assumptions often find themselves becoming accepted as fact despite having no basis in truth. |

Sheehan and KOL are the only short term options unless people want some of the u23 coaches to take charge. I suspect the club will want to have their permanent man in place before the Summer. Give them a good look at the squad until the end of the season ready to go during the break. |
 | Forum Reply | Luke Williams at 17:15 17 Feb 2025
There were a lot of people convinced that they were a package deal. I've not seen anything to suggest that they were particularly close, no quotes from either of them about any specific or meaningful friendship between them. They'd worked together successfully at a previous club. That's about all. [Post edited 17 Feb 17:16]

Sheehan as caretaker. If things pick up in the short term he may carry on, but I think they'll want a permanent replacement sooner rather than later. Hopefully not one whose only previous full season of league management ended in relegation. |

Surprised it's taken this long. They've been terrible all season. Surely his last job in the league? |
