If we win at the weekend and other results go our way, attitudes will change again.
I understand resigning yourself to the fact we are going down, it´s easier to accept and get on with it instead of prolonging the misery but seriously a win and some luck can change everything.
Its unlikely we will stay up but the fight is not over.
Wether the team feel the same and will fight for every scrap is another matter, I hope they give it there all against a team struggling.

The maths say it is not over and our rivals have some very tricky fixtures that I don't think they will get a lot of points out of. We have a better set of fixtures BUT we have not been picking up the points that we needed and although I don't see see Wigan, Villa, Stoke picking up points we have to get 10 to be on a par. But as you say, win on saturday and again next Sunday and it will certainly make it interesting.

CJC, have a look at your last sentence. It sums up exactly why, barring alien abductions and a flurry of points deductions, we are finished.
That's not being defeatist, it's a judgement based on how "well" the team "played" in the last game and the miraculous sequence of results which are now required for us to stay up.
The club had better not mess things up next season. We need to be professional, well prepared and well organised from the moment this season ends, rather than doing what we usually do, i.e. mucking about through the summer and early autumn and then launching a PR campaign in October in which the players and the management team start providing us with regular updates on how good the morale is, what a lovely time the team are having in training and how we are days away from everything gelling and Rangers turning into world beaters and saving our season with consumative ease.

Last 5 games of 2011-2012: Stoke, Sunderland, Aston Villa, Blackburn and Wolves all got 3 points. Norwich got 4 points Bolton and Qpr 6 points Wigan 12 points.... Who will shine and who will crash and burn. I know it sounds daft but stranger things have happened. All still to play for in my eyes.

Fúcking hell. When we hit Christmas somewhere between 1st and 24th in the Championship, will people finally resign themselves to the fact we might have possibly been relegated from the Premiership???

if we win on saturday and everyone else loses we'll still be 7 adrift with 4 to play and you may as well say 3 to play as we never win at Liverpool
Dave, we will probably not win any but to say Liverpool is a definite loss is a bit a miss. Last game of last season and we almost turned over Man City away, who had the league title to play for, Liverpool will probably have nothing to play for.
