Plantar Fascia injury probably take a couple of months to improve, but as a fit footballer could be quicker. Had this type of injury a couple of years back playing walking football, had to do physio for a while building up with stretches, icing the heel and predominantly improving calf muscle strength to take the strain so to speak. |  | | |

Suffered from plantar fasciitis last year. It’s all about rest and stretching the tendon as much as you can, by stretching the big toe. Also using a tennis ball under the foot. It is bloody painful and there really is no timescale to it. | |

I think for the time being now it will be Morrison and JCS, if fit. Seeing Morrison as Cools long term successor it will be interesting to see him play alongside JCS. Cook is a good organiser and always the senior person in the back four. Wonder if JCS has the organisational side to his game. Morrison and JCS both good on the ball and distribution a part of their play. Might help with our build up play with a natural left and right combination who can play those progressive passes into midfield | | | |

Most people suffer this, takes a long time to bugger off but I guess with 24/7 private treatment, it will probably heal 100 times faster than someone who has to rely on a one time appointment with the GP, telling them to roll as tennis ball under your foot. |  | | |

Asked a physio friend of mine, and he looked at the QPR statement. If it's a tear of the plantar fascia it could be months, apparently, but if it's plantar fasciatis (a heel spur) it could be anything from 0 to 6 months.
Hope that's accurate. It's not an injury I know much about, thankfully.

I had this,injury last year and sadly I had to leave my employment at Paris Saint Germain but it worked out well because Feltham FC decided to take a punt on me !!

I too had PF. I bought a little roller from Amazon. I rolled it under both feet while listening to high tempo music.
Very encouraging results but mine was probably fairly mild. |  | | |

This doesn’t sound like plantar fasciitis, but rather damage to the planter fascia.I’ve had PF a couple of times and it’s generally an irritating painful feeling in the foot, especially first thing in the morning. I had various physio, innersoles and roller balls etc and it got better over time. A niggly injury a bit like tennis elbow. Cook went down like he’d been shot and I initially assumed he’d torn his achilles or calf. Presumably he’s strained the planter facia, as they said no tear, and that will take a bit of time to heal but doesn’t sound like a chronic issue like planter fasciitis is [Post edited 24 Dec 21:48]

I got planta fascit playing football on a rock hard pitch in Greece, banking my foot down too hard. Had to wear a special protective insert for a year or so after it happened. If Cook has this I'd expect him to be out a long time . | | | |
