It’s relatively new. Difficult to gauge You talk to Surgeons and they say operate….. it’s what pays their bills. Chat to Physios and they’ll say intense sessions of massage and manipulation….. it’s what they do. Chiropractors will say can be sorted by cracking your spine into position….. that earns them money. So I’d assume IDD Therapists will be no different I’m yet to find anyone who’s had it and can give me an independent honest opinion on it. Might just give it a go as I’d like to avoid repeat surgery Good luck with yours….. people who haven’t had that pain can’t appreciate it. I’m telling people now it’s like watching Madsen, Anderson and Celar on the same pitch on an unending loop with your eyes prized open Clockwork Orange style. Horrendous

IDD Therapy on 11:18 - Nov 8 with 1067 views | PlanetHonneywood | Given my last post on here about leg injuries, I have had back issues throughout my life. However, in the last year those issues have been well managed through specific strengthening work on muscles around the spine. I'm not sure if these would work for you. However, a physio friend of mine in London, who is an exponent of ART and has pain management issues, has really helped. I'd happily put you in touch if you DM me. After the last incident last year, I stopped going to the chiro and went to see a feldenkrias (sp.) expert near me here. Four sessions, sorted! I regularly do his exercises inconjunction with those recommended by my friend and so far so good. Good luck amigo. Back pain in the spine ain't no fun!!

Do you find this condition affects your digestion as well? Mine is f*cked and I've lost my sense of taste although some might argue I never had much in the way of taste anyway.

IDD Therapy on 12:29 - Nov 8 with 989 views | WokingR | Be interested to hear how you get on if you do go this route. I've had 2 denervation ops on my spine in the last few years, where they burn away the nerve connections in the problem area. This takes away the pain, but does nothing to fix the underlying problem. Biggest issue I have with it though is that the body eventually self heals and the nerve connections grow back.

That Rhizotomy procedure is what finally done for me. I’d had years of facet joint injections which kept the demon pain from the door but with ever decreasing results My Orthopaedic Surgeon consistently badgered me to have a fusion but I fought against it. Then the injections stopped altogether and he said “right, when do you want me to open you up?” I pleaded with him to offer me something else and begrudgingly he responded led out the nerve ablation (Rhizotomy). My concern was if the nerve endings were burnt how would my brain know if the disc was getting worse or I was pushing it too far? I was assured that wouldn’t happen. It happened. After six months of bliss I was in worse pain than ever… drugs the legal equivalent of smak combined with three bottles of wine didn’t cut it on Christmas Day 2021 so I was rushed to a Neurosurgeon a few months later for a discectomy and laminectomy That failed Have had prolapse at L5/S1 ever since but kept at bay by walking and Pilates…. Nosedive recent though. So I’d say to you take extreme caution on the Rhizotomy route and be VERY careful post procedure The very best of luck

It’s “ the new normal “ mate Certainly is life changing and people don’t appreciate how much you can lose I bought myself an inversion table and it does help. Thing is there’s no one size fits all solution hence canvassing opinions here as always a good source of info Having had failed surgery once I want to avoid that again
