Whisper it quietly but... 12:25 - Feb 1 with 16115 views | Bluce_Ree | Brentford are just four points ahead of Everton who are bottom three (albeit with a game in hand). In fact, without the Everton points deduction it just be three ahead of Luton who are arguably in better form than Brentford. I don't think they'll go down but it's definitely a possibility. Toney might be the difference there if he can keep out of trouble. I think I'd be happy enough with Everton taking that last relegation place (Burnley and Sheff Utd are toast) but Brentford would be pretty good too. Apart from the fact that they'll bum us in the gob twice if they come down and we somehow stay up.

I'm older than you, so I really do get the Luton thing, but I get your point that it's realtive to age and experiences. My list: 1) Chelsea (Racist, violent, historic and well, they're Chelsea) 2) Luton (Violent, historic) 3) Millwall (Racist, violent) A huge, huge gap to everyone else.

We were herded from the stadium to station last season (or season before?) at Luton. I find it all a bit performative nowadays. Football rivalries aside, and your list isn't dissimilar from mine, I just respect small well run clubs and want to see them do well. [Post edited 4 Feb 20:19]

I have never been bothered by either Brentford or Fulham. Any rivalry feels a bit forced. I remember going to see either play when I could not get to see the Rs away. I seem to remember going to an Easter game (in the mid 80s I think) when Fulham were at home in the morning and we were at home in the afternoon. Our only real rivals are the ones by the retirement home with the blue three wheelers round the pitch. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Agreed, don't care about Brentford or Fulham any more than I care about Orient or Crystal Palace. Being a small club, Brentford will probably come back down sooner or later. As for when that might be, couldn't give a monkeys.

And I'm older than you Brian & have no problem with Luton! Pobably because I didn't get to go to many games in the 80's & 90's. Prior to David Evans(?) becoming the owner of Luton, the clubs & supporters appeared to get on well, with a mutual loathing of Watford. I am aware though, that events in those decades changed that for regulars of both clubs. I'm surprised Brian that Everton have not made your top three!

Everton and Cardiff are definitely at 4 and 5 Terry! :) The Top 3 are in a league of their own, though.

Cardiff I would also add? Suppose our rivalry is not what it was compared to twenty years ago, and I've still not been to it but since moving to the new stadium they seem to have mellowed a bit? Might be totally wrong though!

I wouldn’t want to live next door to them, but I don’t mind Millwall, they add a bit of spice to our season. Feel a bit sorry for the lot that can’t get a mention here, Reading. Not racist or violent as far as I’m aware, but leave a taste in the mouth like warm diet lemonade. A poor imitation of a football club, and irritating with it.

Whisper it quietly but... on 10:11 - Feb 5 by BexleyHoop | It was at St Pancras station when we had our little platform dance with Luton. This is after they got into the Ellerslie Road stand during the home game. Luton away in the FA Cup was full on and my hatred of them remains to this day. Shithole town with scummy fans |
I was up there for that FA cup game. Nasty atmosphere and of course we lost. Afterwards it was really dodgy getting back to the station. Didn't feel safe until I saw a fairly large group of QPR fans who were clearly looking for trouble. They'd been rounded up by police and were being escorted to the station. I decided tagging along with them was the safest place to be.

We were on the coach that didn't get the windows put through but we could see yours get done and there were also a couple of people being tended to by the roadside who had been stabbed or slashed. A nasty night, one of my mates who went by train said it was like a casualty ward on the way back but also said it was 50/50.

Whisper it quietly but... on 09:02 - Feb 6 with 1808 views | Lblock | What was it seven of us that got stabbed / slashed pre-match? Absolute carnage that night. Word went around the away end as game progressed and you saw more people who'd obviously been done. By the time the match finished people you'd probably describe as "scarfers" now where seething. That was a proper mob of Rangers afterwards and herd mentality really kicked in.... the OB were fair panicked by it all. Therein was born pure hatred for Lootown scum for a generation of fans which has clearly been handed down. Back to Bentford. They just wind me up - mixture of contempt and, sad to admit, jealousy! Such a plastic club.... last night they were singing about some manufactured rivalry with Foolham and then, laughingly, trying to get the Millwall "Millllllllllll" chant going as "Beeeeeeeeeezze". Then it was the "Toon, Toon... barmy army" as "Bees Bees .. barmy army" alongside nicking Arsenal's chant on Arteta. Shouldn't wind me up but it does living a stones throw from their ground and all that. Bentford will not go down though. If they replace Toney well I'm not sure they will in the future either

Plastic club ? Hardly, been around a long time and so have I maybe could aim that at “new”fans something all clubs go through. All clubs fans sing the same songs unless I missed something when I last went to Loftus Road A club that runs at a profit in the rotten PL with one of the lowest budgets for 3 seasons is a well run club.Hope you stay up over the coming seasons so we can get back to what’s for me a proper derby when we return which I expect is soon.

PL attracts plastic fans. Be interesting to see your fan base when you eventually get relegated. Brentford fan base atm remind me of Reading fans when they got to the PL.

Think if we were top six and winning most weeks it will be the same as fans of my era who don’t go anymore (I do) will return also any shortfall will be taken up by increased away fans.Even in the championship as wonderful as it is it will still be one of the smallest stadiums.Do you think you had plastic fans when you were in the Premier league

Back in the 90s we definitely had no plastic fans, though in the 80s we had the pitch. Weirdly at QPR, the worse we get the more fans turn up. We are clearly a masochist bunch. I remember going to early 90s PL games, and we would have crowds between 8k (Wimbledon) to sellouts (Chelsea, Manure etc). Mostly we would average 15k I reckon. After Euro 96 crowds across football increased.
