How do we come back from this ? on 09:23 - Mar 15 by daveB | He has to play as we have no one else. He had a poor game last night but wouldn't write him off yet. |
Very true. The official vote made him MOTM on Saturday, which might have been slightly over the top but most of us one here thought he played well or very well. We're going to need him in some capacity this season, so we'll find out in time what his true level is, but for now we should be positive and encouraging.

How do we come back from this ? on 09:39 - Mar 15 by BrianMcCarthy | No, it's not. It's a rumour. We have enough things to address without taking rumours and declaring them facts. |
To clarify. I meant this was the truth... But Ramsey, Hall & Co need him to play to protect their positions. I would say that's a fact Brian. I would imagine they are under immense pressure at the moment and have been for a while now.

How do we come back from this ? on 09:02 - Mar 15 by Lancashirehoop | Similar situation as to when Holloway joined us in February 2001, he couldn't stop us going down but Ainsworth possibly can. Whatever happens stick with Gareth, reset, rebuild and come back stronger next season. We have great core support and community and we'll have a first class training complex. We're probably at Loftus Rd for a good few years yet, so let's stick with it (as we always do) and be loud and proud. |
We're on 42 points and despite last night's shitshow I'm still confident we'll pick up a few more points, I think we'll just about be OK.

Ok, important clarification. Thanks Gloucs. I could see why they would be under pressure, (it's not a fact as far as we know, mind you) and I personally think that all senior positions should be reviewed in the summer. I'm just wary of the fanbase making judgements based on rumours. I thought you were, apologies.

Adomah played well as RWB when asked by Warburton, with the obvious exception of Millwall away from my recollections, Adomah is a good tackler, decent in the air (as good as Drewe I'd say) and can move the ball up the pitch, Hindsight's a wonderful thing but last night was a big ask for Drewe, and arguably Tim and Dozzell after Saturday's exertions, Could also have stayed with a 4 of Kakay/Dickie/Dunne/Field, but that right side is too weak imo and 5 remains my preference so with Paal back would rest Drewe for Saturday.

No need to apologise 😠If it's not a fact then I would be even more concerned that the owners have not set targets and accountability for the development of players coming through the academy system.

How do we come back from this ? on 07:29 - Mar 15 by Gloucs_R | At least we can put to bed this romantic notion that our academy prepares players for the first team. If ever we needed that to be true then now was to be their time. Kakay league 1 standard Shodipo league 1/ 2 standard Drewe national league, maybe 2 Sinclair no where next ready for the championship Mahoney national league, not big enough Gubbins national league Can't understand why Dixon Bonner hasn't had any minutes unless it's contractual. Could he be any worse than Dozzell?. I would love to know how much we paid for him (Dozzell)!! We'll spend a couple of million on a player who may not fit the system next year, Richards. Even writing this is depressing. I really hope Paal and Laird are fit for Saturday. |
I didnt realize Dozzell was playing until he was taken off, a complete waste of time and money.

would have been incredibly harsh to drop Drewe after the weekend and also think the Adomah who did well at RWB last season is not here anymore, he's shown none of that this season We could have made changes last night but not sure it would have made much difference, complete inability to defend a set piece has been a problem for years

Don't think it would have been harsh to drop Drewe, just pragmatic. But yeah would changes have made a huge difference - all ifs and buts, had Blackpool not got that early penalty then who knows.

How do we come back from this ? on 23:33 - Mar 14 by Damo1962 | Whatever you say in mitigation, this is up with the worst results in my QPR life. I wasn't sure we would get anything tonight...but this has left me reeling ; and I haven't felt like this for a long time. The "disaster" of relegation, may be the only way to focus minds on the shocking state the club is in. I would rather be relatively competitive in L1,than suffer another season like this. And deep down, we all know we are always going to struggle in this !eague...without a change in our fortunes off the pitch. Feels like a Rubicon moment for me tonight. Utterly ashamed and depressed in equal measure. |
Competitive in League One? There are clubs in League One who would laugh at the way we played last night, Damo.
How do we come back from this ? on 11:10 - Mar 15 with 1500 views | Sonofpugwash | Were the players drugged or something or just totally disinterested? A guy I know who went to the game messaged to say Dieng(for example) was just wandering around his area chewing his gum like he couldn't give a f*ck.I had the misfortune to watch the game on the Sky red button stream which for the first time in months behaved itself.Wish it would have done its usual stroboscopic effect,in fact the raging toothache I had last night was more entertaining. The most alarming and depressing aspect was that we made a side managed by Mick McCarthy....yes,MICK McCARTHY FFS - look like Real Madrid.

How do we come back from this ? on 11:15 - Mar 15 with 1488 views | thehat | I think sometimes you also have to give credit to the opposition I thought Blackpool were excellent and did to us what we did to Watford on Saturday. I'm told that was by and far Blackpool's best performance since they beat us at Loftus Road (bloody typical). They obviously targeted Drew and it worked to perfection but where was his support from Lowe in those tricky opening minutes. Obviously conceding the penalty in the first minute wasn't ideal then conceding the second soon after but what pissed me off the most was the third goal and shocking Goalkeeping from Dieng just when we need our more experienced players to steady us down. After that the body language of a few was questionable again. Especially Lowe and Tim. Dozzell also did another one of his disappearing acts. Yes it was a shocker but we need to take it on the chin dust ourselves down pack out Loftus Road again Saturday and get right behind the the team. If we can beat Birmingham it will be 6 points from 9 in a week which is a good return and we can all forget about Tuesday. With Dykes and Martin up top I think we can score its can we keep them out the other end. The rollercoaster continues........

" They obviously targeted Drew and it worked to perfection but where was his support from Lowe in those tricky opening minutes" Shades of poor Darnell Furlong in only his third senior game getting completely hung out to dry by Wright-Phillips at Selhurst Park the last time we were in the PL. "what pissed me off the most was the third goal and shocking Goalkeeping from Dieng just when we need our more experienced players to steady us down" It might be just me but I think Dieng has become a bit too complacent. Last night's game could be a watershed moment for him like the game at Birmingham against Coventry a couple of years ago was for Lumley. I think he needs a spell on the sidelines. When Dieng's playing well, Archer isn't in his league but right now Archer must be wondering what's got to happen for him to get a game. I wouldn't be surprised to see him between the sticks on Saturday. [Post edited 15 Mar 2023 11:57]

Of course I'd want Archer to do well but more than likely you'd see what we miss if Dieng doesn't play. Happy to be proved wrong!

Agree that Blackpool deserve credit for their display. We did however, make it easier than it should have been for them. They won't find opposition like us again, between now and the end of the season. I'll be keeping an eye on their results...and not for the obvious reason 🙂

I dont think it was complacency he made a poor decision to come for a ball he did not need too, I suspect he was trying to calm things down, but it was too high an he found himself in danger of handball, at best he should have punched. That then impacted further decisions in the game as he would have come for the fourth but stayed routed on his line. I would be more angry with the second to be honest which was appalling defending from Kakay and Dickie again

No other side in this division would concede 6 at Blackpool as they are made of sterner stuff and not mentally weak. We would not have been any worse off last night if we rounded up a team of Blackpool beach donkeys and stuck them on the pitch wearing Rangers shirts.

Where does Ainsworth go from here? by mart_Goblin 15 Mar 2023 12:16What’s his next move here?
Reading between the lines you can tell he was very angry last night but he knows damn well that he has to walk on egg shells with this precious bunch. He will be all too aware of what they did to NC when he dared to publicly criticise them. He used words like weak last night which to me tells you his real mindset and not just his media voice.
After seeing the lineup last night before kick off I was surprised he didn’t make at least a couple of changes, for example he openly said Dozzell wanted to come off Saturday because he was knackered (huge red flag anyway that several members of our squad can’t play 90 bloody minutes), but in hindsight, if he had made changes and we got pumped 6-1 we’d all be saying he shouldn’t change a winning team .
Same team , same formation …it can’t always be the manager and we are once again realising the impossible job NC had.
Personally I hope he is tearing strips off of this bunch privately. Some of them are nothing but con men . You can’t do what you did Saturday and then serve up that garbage 72 hours later .
Getting this lot up and the same as last Saturday against Birmingham seems almost impossible now .
I hope he was in with LF this morning tearing strips off of him too. Imagine having to work with this lot on a daily basis ?
GA being here also means that we now have to stop shopping in the premier league A & E department. You need to fit to play the way he wants and this lot ain’t no where near it . Not physically or mentally able or just plain injured all the time. Those won’t work under GA . See Jordan Fosters post explains it far better than I ever will
