Best/Worse Sporting memories of 2019 — QPR & Other 13:18 - Dec 20 with 2905 viewsheadhoops

Been chatting about this in the office this morning. What have been your highs and lows of the past 12 months and why? Here’s mine.

Best QPR memory — Feb 26th — Freeman masterclass beating the Champions of Europe 1-0.
Worst QPR memory — 0-4 at home to Forest
Best sporting memory — Being at the England v All Blacks Rugby World Cup Semi Final in Tokyo.
Worst sporting memory — England not turning up for the final a week later, shades of Wembley 86.
QPR player of the Year — Eberechi Eze
Best sports personality of the Year — Lewis Hamilton
Who will be our QPR star in 2020 — BOS.
Other than QPR, which sporting event do you never miss? - PDC World Darts at Ally Pally

Best QPR memory : The first half hour of QPR Luton when we went 3-0 up after fifteen minutes and looked wonderful.
Worst QPR memory: Losing 1-2 at home to Rotherham. We were dire.
Best sporting memory non QPR: The Oval Test (live) and Ben Stoke's innings in the Headingly test (on tv)
Worst sporting memory: watching Steve Smith batting on forever in the first and fourth tests and wondering if we'd ever get him out.
QPR player of the year: Eze obviously
Sports personality of the year: Ben Stokes. Not only for the World Cup and the Ashes but for that amazing tweet attacking the scummy Sun journalists.
Who will be the standout player in 2020: Agree it will be BOS if/when Eze goes
Other than QPR what sporting event do you never miss: I'm always at the Surbiton tennis tournament. Lovely little tournament that punches above its weight in terms of entries and is a bargain £10 to get in.

Best QPR memory - Nix got there beforfe me - that 30 minutes was phenomenal. Just liquid football.

Worst QPR memory - Forest was bad, but actually Wells missing that pen to not complete the comeback was soul-destroying, both for me, and, I think, for the squad as a whole.

Best sporting memory - Easily, easily winning the Cricket World Cup. The single most tense hour of sport I have ever seen. Incredible. Second was Stokes at Headingley.

Worst sporting memory - England not capitalising on that Stokes innings.

QPR player of the Year - I'm not sure we have a player who's played consistently and well for the entire calendar year, so in the end it comes down to Manning or Eze for me, and I'd go for Eze.

Best sports personality of the Year - Ben Stokes

Who will be our QPR star in 2020 - Not answering, it'll jinx it. But he's not very tall.

Other than QPR, which sporting event do you never miss? - England cricket games

Bare bones.

Best QPR memory - The first game of the season v Stoke. We just looked so so much better than I expected and topped off by an Eze masterclass, it felt like the moment he properly announced that he meant business now.

Worst QPR memory - Strangely, the 4-0 (I think) tonking by Norwich. I watched it with a raging hangover and it was just so routine how we were taken apart that day that I could see nothing positive in our future as a club (see memory above as to why I saw that so important)

Best sporting memory - I'm going to say the Stokes Headingley game because I was there! It was magic

Worst sporting memory - Rugby World Cup final...just never like seeing England lose!

QPR player of the Year -Eze, we haven't had a talent like this in a while

Best sports personality of the Year - Ben Stokes. World cup winer, ashes standout, all round exciting cricketer

Who will be our QPR star in 2020 - BOS

Other than QPR, which sporting event do you never miss? - Cricket, Snooker

Poll: Moses Odubajo - Stick or Twist?

Ah, I enjoy an end of year review like this.

Best QPR memory - As others have said, that first half hour against Luton, it really should have been 7-0 at half time and that's not exaggerating at all.

Worst QPR memory - The home losses to Rotherham and Bolton, although that Forest game the other week was particularly depressing, and I stayed until the bitter end.

Best sporting memory - Cricket World cup Final win.

Worst sporting memory - Apart from Stokes and a few other bits, the Ashes was thoroughly disappointing, just watching Smith and Loosechange bat for hours on end was grim.

QPR player of the Year - That's Easy, Eze.

Best sports personality of the Year - Ben Stokes.

Who will be our QPR star in 2020 - Ryan Manning.

Other than QPR, which sporting event do you never miss? Surrey T20s! Oh and the NFL London games. Sometimes Stateside too....

Best QPR memory - Winning at Stoke opening day.
Worst QPR memory - 4-0 thrashing to Norwhich, delayed my 2.5 hour drive home to my parents to watch that, made a massive mistake delaying my travel.
Best sporting memory - Tiger winning the Masters
Worst sporting memory - Had to think on this, probably this entire Cleveland Browns season to be honest.
QPR player of the Year - Eze
Best sports personality of the Year - Tiger Woods (nobody really sticks out to me)
Who will be our QPR star in 2020 - BOS
Other than QPR, which sporting event do you never miss? - Opening day of the NCAA Basketball Tournament
