Best way to buy a car??? 11:18 - May 28 with 21062 viewsAlfieMooresSon

It seems like the youngsters just decide £300 per month or whatever and hire or lease a car that they never actually own.

The old method was to buy a quality car say 3 to 4 years old, then keep it for 3 to 7 years.

What do you do and what is the best method these days?

How much of this is down to current life circumstances. So many youngsters living at home because renting is so expensive and home ownership out of the reach for many. So they have no serious financial commitments and just blow the lot, sometimes borrowing to feed their impulses. I just wonder where all this will end up 20 to 30 years down the line.

I have a mate who's told me his 21 year old son is thousands in debt. He lives at home, has a minimum wage job and is up to his eyeballs.
