Of all our transfer f**k-ups in recent years, not re-signing JA has to be up there with the biggest of them all.
I'll admit that I've not been quick enough on the uptake of this, but since the inflated transfer fees in the premier league occurred, the short-sightedness of the board (knowing that the new tv would come into effect) is staggering. £13m is an absolute steal.
Why didn't they see that this would have been a great deal when they knew the tv deal was coming into effect?

Brilliant post. Many of us stated that £13m was to much for him. But we are posters on a messageboard. Not someone who is paid half a million pounds a year to project future income and increases in transfer fees. Our chairman has become an utter fvcking joke. Gary, what also muddied the discussion was the comments that he should be bought for 13Mill "to replace Leon" when many (some) of us knew that he never was and never will be a Britts replacement. The argument got skewed so the replies were not accurate and yet, as you indicated, someone earning a shedload of cash who was not affected by our histrionics couldn't fackin see it... or thought that he was Mr Levy and could out negotiate them - please get rid of big nose NOW! |  |

I appreciate that burrows kind of tried it, but swansea way I don't think so.
The swansea way is something that Martinez brought and was nurtured and refined by Sousa, rogers and Laudrup. Subsequently destroyed by HJ and his playing dOF. Having said that the Swansea way when we've had it has produced the best football in my time watching us but this chasing it is increasing,y looking like for a unicorn. It's a set up and attitude for me. It's not something you can just say ok, return to footballing principles and return to the Swansea way. It doesn't work like that. Yeah it is a more than fair salary. But Huw Jenkins is very successful. Allen wanted to take ten times what the chairman takes out of the club and looking for a 4 year contract. That is some serious wedge for a midfielder who does not score regularly. Good on him that he plays for his country but no way am i going to bend and accept the complete shite muttered.
