I think the most minutes Emnes ever played was 70, with one goal [please correct me if I'm wrong]. He had a couple of 14 minute appearances with one goal each. There might be others, but I can't find my numbers for that.
In any case, if all he gets are infrequent and widely-spaced "cameo" appearances, how can we seriously say he "has a habit of doing something in a short burst," when that's all he gets; and that he won't do well as a starter, when he's started only once (I think)?
We still rightly rave about Michu who scored 22 (I think) in all competitions. and Bony a few more than that.
And how many dry games did we wait for Bony and Gomis to finally start scoring?
As the saying goes, "give him a run of games." Emnes might well be the victim of closed mind syndrome. He certainly can't do worse than Gomis for a half-dozen games. |
He's hardly started any games, but I think he played the full 90 v Palace at the end of last season. |  |

He started yr before last when we beat Cardiff 3-0 in Monk first game in temp charge. Went off inj at half time to be replaced by Pablo who within 5 mins put the ball through for the opener. He also started last yr when we beat Southampton away but went off injured again after 15 min or so. |  | | |

That's interesting I would not have had him down for a start. In that he came off injured both times. Not a good experience. Emnes can do a job and should get a few games but just goes to show he has had a few chances.
Not exactly a Campbell from arsenal type debut and probably shows why we mightn't have depth.
Players such as tab Grimes Britton barrow ever are probably closer but it's a few goals we need personally I think Shelvey will get 10 or more and again will drag us through the 2Nd half of the season | | | |

With Emnes it is not just the goals he scores, it is the panic he creates leading to Penalties and chances for other players.
