You've done it now; 442 will be in kit overdrive.

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

It's not just the numbers...the 'home' shorts are white, while the 'away' shorts are, erm, white!

Perhaps they'll reduce the prices of face paint to compensate

And two different pairs, one with a red Nike tick for the away kit. Brilliant.

There has been much talk of FIFA making teams have one 'all light kit' and another that's 'dark' and thus you have the ridiculous notion of Germany in all white, Spain in all red and Argentina in white shorts &socks. Except this appears to be nonsense because Brazil have their usual yellow shirts, blue shorts. Yes, a team might have to wear an 'all light kit' for a game in the World Cup, but the official strip for England should still include navy shorts. They'd then just use the away shorts with it, as they did in numerous tournaments previously.

Destroying the integrity of a kit doesn't mean much to some, but why do it if it annoys traditionalist and isn't necessary? Same with the numbers. England have red numbers on their shirts, even when the kit has contained no red trim anywhere else - look at the '66 World Cup or the 2000 Euros. It looked classy that they stuck to tradition in this way.

People moaning about the air quality and a desert appearing on our doorstep? The news should be featuring this number atrocity as their lead story.
