Southgate resigns
at 11:33 16 Jul 2024

Right decision from southgate, there was undertones of it turning toxic part way through the tournament and can leave with his head held high. I think he took us as far as he was capable. Genuinely did a good job and has turned us from a joke into serious contenders.

Don't fancy Potter and cant see howe leaving newcastle. Think its too early for McKenna, so the english options arent great.

Id give poch a call and see if he fancies it. Dream appointment would be klopp, but thats pie in the sky.

Final
at 11:44 13 Jul 2024

We looked worse after shaws introduction, though that was through no fault of his own.

With the introduction of shaw we reverted to a back 4 and shoehorned Bellingham out to the left. Bellingham has hardly been great this tournament, but out on the left its pointless even having him on the pitch.

It was an odd decision from southgate as he'd landed on tactics which allows players to play in a more natural role (trippier aside, but id imagine he will start shaw in the final) and then seemingly tossed that at half time with his introduction.

See them having similar struggles to us post-hill.

Coleman and accy just seem to work together.

This really isn't the gotcha you think it is, considering labour didn't have a candidate on the voting ballot his point remains.

Labour will win the seat back in the general election regardless of who they parachute in as their candidate.

T' 2023 tests
at 17:39 10 Jul 2023

No, the commentators alluded to Root having a liking for the bat he used in this Test and has used it for multiple tests. That's the reason he wanted bat tape for some damage mid innings.

Big Jim confirmed as permanent manager
at 11:50 13 May 2023

No but you asked for a manager who would be accepted.

As I said, it's not the fans job to find someone, but most fans have a certain standard they'd expect to be met by which ever candidate the board picks.

Jim unfortunately doesn't tick any of the boxes.

It's not my job to find a manager, however the bare minimum was someone with some semblance of experience in the league we're about to drop into.

National league is a completely different beast and Mcnulty doesn't even have playing experience in the league.

The board have taken the easy option. It's not as if mcnulty was producing promotion level form before the end of the season to justify the decision.

Big Jim confirmed as permanent manager

Absolutely stunned there are people happy with this announcement.

We've been on a slump since the last year of Hills reign and with each passing manager we just seem to get worse and people think Jim in his first ever managerial position, in a league he never even played in, never mind managed is the guy to stop this prolonged slump the club has been on?

It's a hard no from me, I'm stunned honestly. 4 embarrassing appointments in a row.

Hope he does the business and in times of stability I'd be all for it, but these are uncertain times for the club and we've given the keys to a rookie. Seems crazy to me.

Absolutely, to give stockdale a well backed summer, to only lose the faith 8 games in raised alarm bells (I thought stockdale was out of his depth BTW), we then went after an underwhelming managerial choice in Bentley and then did the polar opposite and kept the faith for too long despite no indicators that he was capable of turning it around.

I don't want to slag the board off too much as they clearly aren't footballing men, but they took the reigns in the clubs hour of need and that alone deserves applause, but we've paid the price for their inexperience.

Still hoping for a miracle.

Can't help but feel if we got rid of Bentley and got a proper manager in 2 months ago when most fans thought it was time, things may have looked a bit different.

We've won 2 out of 2 since he left and this is with a virtual novice in charge. Call it rub of the green, luck or whatever else but these are the facts. We should have never got JB to start with and to leave him lingering like a bad smell was a serious error and has probably cost us dearly.

I've heard some excuses for managers being shite, but the squad having undiagnosed long covid has to be the best yet.

Please sack Bentley Tonight
at 17:09 25 Mar 2023

Weeks maybe months too late.

We probably wouldn't have stayed up if we sacked him 2 months ago, but we'd definitely have more points. Absolutely clueless c**t.

Our last 3 appointments have been shambolic.

He didn't play well for us. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but at the time it was the right choice for both parties.

It happens at all levels of football, a player is average for one club and becomes a world beater elsewhere. We've enough doom at the minute, no point in lamenting over this.

We're pretty much down at this point, but the club need to pull the trigger and get rid of Bentley now. Do the club really trust him next season? If the answer is no, get someone in who can assess the squad now and try to start the ball rolling on the culling of the deadwood as early as possible.

They know the money is coming tomorrow, I can guarantee with 100% certainty this will have no baring on their decision. If they were to relieve him of his duties I'd imagine it'd be gardening leave at first.

Yeah that'll be it. Jim Bentley will be walking out the stadium after the game with a bag full of £1, 50p and any loose change from the bar takings.
