Cifuentes gone?
at 15:44 24 Nov 2024

How wrong can you be!
Nourry is the 'boss' - he can hire/fire the coach/manager
Cifuentes was not in charge signings - Nourry and Andy Belk are.

That was a very frank, honest interview. Cook really takes things on the chin.
I've must respect for him.

The support group are The Molotovs - who are as explosive onstage are their name implies. Great people too - make sure you see them.

No 'released' songs from them yet - but this is The Molotovs. They are all 16-18 years old and going places.
They have their own gig at Bush Hall (I think we all know where that is!)
They are about to sign a big record contract.
See them before they start to explode :)

Stan Bowles
at 21:13 24 Feb 2024

It was because of Stan I supported QPR in the first place. In 1972 we played Cardiff, and I watched the highlights on 'The Big Match'. Stan was making one of his first appearances for us, and finished off a brilliant team move in what became his usual flamboyant style. It was love at first sight for me.
I met him a few years ago at a talk he gave - and they showed some of the highlights from his career, including that goal. I told him that's why I became a QPR fan.
What a loss.
There are so many stories of him off the pitch too. My friend Marilyn ran Stan's fan club. She told me of the time that the club rang her to ask Stan to return the annual Player of the Year trophy. Stan said 'Oh that cup - Iost it in a bet!'
Legend!!!!
My hear and thought go out to all that knew him. The World is a duller place tonight.

Yes, but who is the 'somebody' - surely the Director of Football's job? I guess Lee Hoos is doing everything now!

Terry Venables RIP
at 18:13 26 Nov 2023

I met Terry Venables in 1974 - when I was 11 years old. I was very lucky to be invited into the players' guest room after the last game of the season. It was against Leeds, and was the highest ever attendance at Loftus Road.
My godfather knew Terry Mancini - who invited us. I will never forget chatting to the likes of Stan Bowles, Dave Thomas, Gerry Francis, and of course Terry Mancini. All great players and characters. But when Terry Venables walked into the room he had everyone's attention. The man was so charismatic - and funny too. I got a ball signed by all the players.
I was crestfallen when he was sold to Palace, but so delighted when he came back as manager. I remember being outside South Africa Road the night Tommy Doc was fired. Terry Venable was there too - and I remember saying to him 'When are coming back to us' - not realising the deal had already probably been done!
RIP a giant of the football world - and one the charismatic people I ever met.

There is a brilliant youth scene going in London at the moment -and this band are leading it. They are 15-17 years old!
They've already supported Blondie and the Libertines (Pete Doherty is a big fan)
