LT District Club was not far from Acton Town Station right? Just off Bollo Lane? My memory could be playing tricks with me. Went there a few times when I was a nipper in the early 80's as my Dad and Cousin worked for London Transport/Acton Works. My Dad from about '74 to '85. My cousin was there from around the same time up until he retired a few years ago.

I pretty much grew up in Acton British Legion though. From late 70's to early 2000's before moving to Hanwell. About 15 years go it was converted to some sort of Mosque/place of worship I think.

Occasionally frequented the South Acton Working Mans club (The Bottom club), as well as the Acton United Services Club (The Top Club).

I'm waiting in anticipation for the next WLS podcast on QPR. The last one in November was titled "There's a lot wrong with QPR". If you're feeling suicidal, don't watch it!

But I'm sure we'll see a much more positive & upbeat Dave, Kevin and Ian when they eventually do another one...

I actually quite like Ashby. He's still young, learning and adjusting. He's raw, but he's positive and I like that. Yes he'll make mistakes but I really like his energy and enthusiasm. I definitely think he's improving.

And he's cleary enjoying playing for us Just see how he celebrates when we score and when we win.

Fun fact...

I know McGuinness's brother (Tom) and Dad (John) who bowl for Gerard Cross Bowls Club in Bucks.

Tom played for (and Captained) the England Under 25 team, and is now a Senior International.

John played for and Captained the Senior England team up until about 5 years ago.

Both excellent players and very nice chaps too.

The last 5 home games to keep us up in 2012 was quite remarkable. Beating Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs, Swansea and Stoke.

Especially as we lost the last 5 away games!!!
