Agree you are spot on. Sale of Grimes couldn't have been at a worse time. O' Brien deal good business to steady us through to the end of the season. Then time to reevaluate.
As todays article from Fans Network shows unless things change drastically that could be highly unlikely. Value 3 million current wages 37k of which we are rumoured to be paying a significant part if not all of the rumoured 24k. By our standards that is way over our budget. Looks like we broke the bank after the untimely departure of Grimes. Really hope I'm wrong. A lot of water to run under the bridge until then.
Nobody made more high profile signings than Tosh. The likes of Callaghan, Kennedy, Tommy Smith the list is endless. He would invite them down to Swansea. Take them for a walk on Caswell Beach then up to the Caswell Bay Hotel for a meal and drinks. By then they were all keen to sign. Tosh sold our stunning locality better than anyone else.
Its been mentioned on here a number of times previously maybe by you WR that investing in the Acadamy is a way round FFP. If so would love to see us get back to Category 1 status and have a Director of football overseeing the entire set up. Gareth Jennings seems to be a good fit in this regards..
Much better second half today. Players showed a lot of character. O'Brien slotted in nicely on his debut. A bit rusty but clear to see a good player at this level.
Would like to see Joe do his badges and remain within the club in some capacity. The DNA of the club is being lost and every effort needs to be made to keep it alive.
The Mens Shed in Victoria Park seems to be thriving. We meet every Monday 11am to 1. Bacon rolls, a cuppa and biscuits all for just a £1 donation. Its a safe place for men of all ages to visit.
A survey was done earlier in the season seeking people's views. Nothing seems to have changed. Take me to the Vetch Field song is so dated and that comes from someone who was at White Heart Lane that night for that famous win. Yma o hyd for me. Let's get the passion back into a club that is sleep walking into a downward spiral.
Savarese doing media work in the States I believe and thought Birch still with the F.A. Birch was in the stand for the Portsmouth home game. Hasn't he connections with Pompey?. Savarese watched us back in October. Ive still got a gut feeling about Savarase as our next manager.
