I went today. No Fireworks from him and he was stumped for 12. However he really looks to have a confident style and he was gutted to be out in that fashion when he was starting to put a partnership together with Jennings. Looking at the size of him and the way he times it I reckon he might be hitting it as hard as his dad did if he gets established.
Completely blew it in the last 7 balls needing 5 runs, after getting the game on track. 1 ball of the 49th over left,Jennings hits it to a fielder so declines the single he wanted and somehow Barnard gets himself run out leaving number 11 to come in and face the last over. He is out 2nd ball and we lose!! Pity because it was a nice day out and my first time watching us at Stanley Park. decent venue IMO [Post edited 28 Jul 22:28]

The Mac game on Tuesday was my first, and I was genuinely concerned after that game for the season as we were outplayed for 70 minutes by a team 2 divisions below. Yet 4 days later we turned in a really good performance against Carlisle. Much sharper, faster to the ball and unlike Tuesday we got a result we deserved. Would still say we are lacking a wide player with pace to burn but there looks to be some depth to the squad especially in midfield. I would also say we have a lot of quite small players, which could be an issue against some of the agricultural style teams, but overall pleased with what I saw yesterday.
A lot more direct than Tuesday at times although we almost played them in with the passing on a couple of occasions. Trialist B looked quite good in his cameo, Trialist A got about 2 minutes so didn't seem much point to be honest. Not sure who either one was. Hopefully we can finish with a decent 2 games before the season starts. I assume we will want to start with what is close to our strongest team in the Salford game, but it will be interesting to see if some of the trialists get more time against Avro, (or if we try a few new combinations/Tactics). |

When they were about 50-0 a mate called about going down today as the tickets were free. I said to hang on because they might lose a few wickets before the close but he didn't think so !!.
Genuinely embarrassing performance even though England bowled well. Let's hope Sri Lanka make a better fist of it. |

Unbelievable catching performance ( lack of) by the West Indies. 5 catches and a stumping all missed with 5 out of the 6 relatively easy and the last catch still a better than 50/50. Terrible shots by England and we would have been out for less than 250 against a decent fielding team.
However we have got the runs & let's hope we can get at least 4 days of cricket in. Will know by the second session if WI will be competitive but they were poor today in the field |

When Rodri didn't come out for the second half, I thought we might be able to get a lot more ball, but they have quality in depth. Rice had a poor game & hasn't been great the whole tournament, nothing like his Arsenal performances. Going forward I hope we give some of the younger lads the lead & that Kane becomes a squad player rather than automatic starter. I think it will all depend on if Southgate stays or goes. |

They only played 1 3 day game as a warm up. Hopefully they will now play themselves into a bit of form because you don’t want games over that quickly, even if England win

Fair play to Southgate. most people would have thought it would have been Toney for Kane but he threw the dice with Watkins and it came up trumps. Although they were probably the better team in the second half, over the 90 minutes I think we deserved it because the first half was superb. I thought we would regret not going into HT ahead but now it's only Spain in front of us !!!. |

Looked as if SA were about to lose their Choke tag but ended up doubling down. run a ball needed with 5 overs left, 2 set batsmen and Klassen on fire. He gets out at the start of the 16th over and the rest of them panic. Unbelievable !!! |

2 unbeaten teams in the final so we can't complain. Yet if we had got 25 in the last 3 overs against SA, it would have been us playing Afghanistan in the first Semi. Well beaten in the other 2 losses today and against the Aussies
Would be nice to see SA get over the line on Saturday but India are looking good |

It showed the over on twitter/X & there was literally no-one at the ground watching. What a day that would have been, just a pity they didn't get over the line.
Well done Lancs. Like DA says, odd that we had such a bad start & doubtful we can finish higher than 3rd. Surry up first after the break for the 100 so hopefully we can finish the current set of matches with a win next week |

Absolutely lashing it down in Guyana. Meant to improve later in the day, but India go through if there is a washout. June is the main month for rain in Guyana with approx 24 wet days oduring the month, so the decision to switch the Semi's around and not leave an extra day available for this one seems weird. |

India in the Semi so it will be a tough one. I think the Guyana pitch is usually a low scoring one, but both teams have batters who can score on any pitch. Bumrah for India and Rashid for us could be the key difference makers. Rashid our player of the tournament so far IMO |

South Africa style choke today. After being behind most of the innings, a brilliant Brook/Livingstone sets us up with 25 to win from 18 balls with 6 wickets remaining and 2 set batsmen. Somehow we blew it.
Open group now and if West Indies beat South Africa it could be 3 teams on 4 points with run rate deciding it |

First complete performance of the tournament for us. Always in control, and that over where Salt cracked 30 was the highlight along with Rasheed’s bowling. Crowd went from party to funeral atmosphere very quickly, and started leaving well before the end. Win tomorrow could put us in the semi before the USA game |

Our super 8 group is with South Africa, USA, and West Indies. Quite favourable with both teams you mention in the other group with Afghanistan and probably Bangladesh. |

Seems to have been a new innovation that hasn't worked. Grown the pitch in Adelaide, shipped it to the States then transported to New York by truck. Clearly something has gone wrong as they were meant to be hard true pitches.
With Scotland hammering Oman, we need 2 amazing results against Namibia and Oman and hope the Aussie/Scotland game isn't rained off. we are miles behind on Run rate. Antigua is apparently the driest of the Caribbean island so hopefully we get full games. However playing the World Cup as the area is transitioning into the rainy season seems odd but I assume the IPL stopped it being played a month earlier |

at 313 for 3 it was certainly on the cards for a defeat. Last game before the break is Warwickshire at home, and they haven't won a game. It would be good to double up wins & could move us up 2 or 3 places |

Finally a decent day if not brilliant. Really need to secure a few wins, although watch stokes hit 150 runs tomorrow!!!
Regarding the below, as long as profits after tax and all 1 off items are significantly positive and cover at least the interest payments, I don't think that loan is unmanageable |
