This Week — Hello darkness my old friend
at 10:08:18

I think NW must have known about this earlier. Talking about new contracts for Helguson and Cerny he was quoted as saying, "They've both got a part to play next year, WHATEVER DIVISION WE'RE IN." I thought that was an odd thing to say at the time.

Championship leaders prepare for Loftus Road showdown — full match preview

I can't listen to R5Live football when Alan Green is commentating. He was good when he started off, but now he thinks that every match is the Alan Green show, and that we want to know his opinions rather than hear what's happening on the pitch. His football knowledge is limited, and he seems to be only interested in goals being scored, with no interest in good tactical defensive play etc. For him a 0-0 draw is automatically "dire". The man's ego is so big that even when his co-commentator takes over, "Greeny" can often be heard sneering and laughing in the background. As an experienced broadcaster he must know that his voice is being picked up by the mic, so this is deliberate. I hate him. It's got so bad that I'll listen to the first 22 minutes by Mike Ingham or whoever, and then turn to TalkSport when Green comes on. Please tell me it's not just me.

QPR preserve unbeaten record with late Ram raid — full match report
at 22:35:40

For me that moment came in 1969 away at Carlisle (like you, Clive, I was a west London boy uprooted to the north, and I travelled across the pennines to see the game). We were 0-3 down with five minutes to go, and my Dad and I decided to make our excuses and leave. To get out of the away end, though , you had to walk around the side of the pitch, and while we were doing this, the Rs scored twice (Dave Clement and Frank Clarke). I missed Clement's goal because I wasn't looking, though. Earlier on in the game, following one of Carlisle's goals, Rodney had nearly scored direct from the kick-off chipping the keeper - a trick that I saw him try quite a few times. I've never left a game early since then.
