2 points up on the corresponding fixtures last season. Mike Dean is still a knut 7 yellows because they were the two nastiest teams in the Prem out there.

16th in the league. I'll take that at the end of the season.

But then Liverpool will win the League...

On the flipside, Cardiff would finish 10. which proves once in for all that they are not as good as Swansea.

Thought he reffed the game really well to be honest, was firm but fair and stamped out any fouls that stopped us playing with a yellow card, West Brom couldn't get away with it. Also found it hard to disagree with anything he gave against us.

Aye. Mich needs to keep his hands to himself, but I thought he wimped out a bit there; either both get yellow or neither, but because the Bromboy would have been off he took the easy option.

Why would Liverpool win the league if we finish 16th, or Cardiff 10th for that matter.

Nice win, 7 yellows made it look a dirty game which it wasn't. IMO we still look weak defending high balls into the area, WBA had two clear headers in the box, which could have undone us. Canas looks like he could be a good replacement for Leon. Need for good RB cover for AR who is starting to show his age a bit. Michu good second half, Pablo one of his best games, Bony needs pitch time, but is going to be good for a few goals as the season goes on. JJS fitting in needs to be little bit more selective as to when he uses long pass. JDG jury still out in my book, lot of promise, but question his heart. Comfortable top ten finish this season, between Feb and end of season see us picking up 25/30 points, easiest run in since we got in the EPL.

Never knew getting old would happen so quick!

From the beep:

MANAGER REACTION - West Brom 0-2 Swansea
Swansea manager Michael Laudrup: "A very, very important win. Away win, clean sheet and the way we did it was perfect. After two very difficult games it was so important to get something. The performance from the squad I have to be very, very pleased.

"In the second half we have really dominated the game. I think we could have scored a couple more goals. We had some great chances.

"I was thinking are they going to equalise but fortunately they didn't and we won the game with a very good performance.

"One striker I think will come in, no one out. I think it will be finished tomorrow. I think we will finish it."

What, NOBODY AT ALL wants Lita on a free transfer or even loan?

Even the bad times were good.

Thought we were superb today and got the win I believed we would (check my entry in the Prediction league if you think this is post-result revisionism). What's been remarkable for me this week has been the extent to which a significant number of fans have lost faith in the team. We all knew we'd be lucky to get any points from the first 2 games, and yes, we could have performed a little better against Spurs, but I was always confident that when he started playing teams in 'our' league that we'd do well.

We looked awesome at times today, a class above WBA. Only wasteful finishing meant the game wasn't in the bag by the hour mark. Plenty of fight in the team as well as talent on the ball.

Tremendous finish from Ben as well:

Even the bad times were good.

Back from the match. A totally dominant away performance which could easily have been a bigger winning margin. OK, West Brom were awful but you can only beat what's in front of you.

We really needed that result with some difficult matches coming up. This performance will have really boosted confidence.

Lastly, whatever happens before the transfer deadline, we HAVE to hold on to Michu. He was absolutely outstanding today. He was finding acres of space between the West Brom defence and midfield and was at the heart of everything we did. They just couldn't handle him.

Just back, first time Swans have won away in ages with us being there, was thinking we were bad omens. Thought team ran the game when Bony went off, Pablo better on the left cutting in. Nice touch second half when Michu gave the fans encouragement with a hand signal to keep the noise going. We appear too slow with that final killer ball. Didn't know Scotty was playing 2nd half. Wish we wouldn't sing songs like "in their Cardiff slums"...... who cares about them ? Not me..........

.......on the other hand, looking forward to November

Just back too, plenty of tickets for sale about 1500 there. Canas is a f*cking beast, Shelvey played well, should have been 4-0, the one when Pablo hit the bar, the run Michu made taking 3 defenders with him to open it up for Pablo was world f*cking class. Michu's workrate was phenominal and when he toold the ref to f off lol. As soon as the whistle went he was staight over to us and was doing the old worship thing, he awesome. The Jackarmy was in fantastic voice, Sinclair did nothing loads of funny songs about him. Great day out

The hair and the beard have gone I am now conforming to society, tis a sad day The b*stards are coming back though

He once again mentioned the "our league" philosophy he has. Not sure he should return to that so often. It ends up sounding as you have basi cally given up against certain teams. I know he does it to keep up morale and accepting defeats against bigger teams, but if he goes on often enough it could end up as defeatism.

We did better then expected against the big teams last season. It is not going to be a problem.

But he is not talking about reaching 40 points anymore. That is most def nice.

Whoever writes for the OS didn't watch the midweek Europa League game or has a very short memory. Davies played the full game against Petrolul Ploiesti.

http://www.swanseacity.net/news/article/bd-wba-reaction-1028818.aspx
"Davies was one of six changes made by Michael Laudrup at West Brom from the side that started against Petrolul Ploiesti in midweek."
