Tottenham v Swansea - MatchDay Thread on 18:03 - Aug 25 with 3021 views | KingBony | Are we destined to lose 1-0 to spurs every year? Just felt like a re-run of last year. Won't criticise the selection but just felt like we were only interested in trying to get a draw and once spurs scored you just knew that was that. On the flip side if we'd held out then gone for the win late on it would have been great tactics. Margins are so small in this league between success and failure. Hope we can pick up at least a point at WBA.

Tottenham v Swansea - MatchDay Thread on 18:03 - Aug 25 with 3015 views | NOTRAC | We played like a different side after their penalty. Why do we start these games as if we are waiting for them to score a goal so that we can start playing.

Tottenham v Swansea - MatchDay Thread on 18:03 - Aug 25 with 3014 views | Plasticman | hard to play football when the ref is so biased. It was obvious it affected the players. How he can get away with throwing so many cards at us and so few at tots is beyond me. Shocking standard of reffing from the league.

Tottenham v Swansea - MatchDay Thread on 18:04 - Aug 25 with 2997 views | inspector | going defensive nearly, and probably should have worked. ref was a knob, shelvey won't be starting many games from us in the league once bony gets up to sharpness and poz looks handy. spurs battled well and tried to completely shut up shop when the scored.

Laudrup needs to get to f*cking grips with his striker selections. Shechter ahead of anyone. Michu upfront when he hates it there and he's less effective. Bony in desperate need of match sharpness and starts two games on the bench.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

?? ML chose to start with Michu up front because that was the formation he wanted. That's what he likes to do against top 5 teams. Defend and nick a goal home or away against them. He would have done that whoever we had in reserve.

Spurs were deserved winners. They should have already had a penalty and create a lot of chances. We were very poor. Lacked structure. We spend £12m on a striker to fix an obvious problem and leave him on the bench. Unless he's unfit, it's baffling.

Correct. I think a lot of the focus will be on Bony/Cardiff's result mind.
Tottenham v Swansea - MatchDay Thread on 18:04 - Aug 25 with 2983 views | JonnyTheJack | That was frustrating. Didn't keep the ball well enough and the ref was fu*cking dire. It was a similar performance to last season. Pozuelo was the only one to show a bit of class and penetration in the final 3rd.

Thank god, ur not the manager, you know what would happen if we started too offensively ? they would have put 3 or 4 goals past us in the first half, and we would be out of the game. Everton away last season, we played double right backs and were pretty solid defensively, came away with nil nil, but the cÛnt of referee wanted to make up for his mistake from first half..

Tottenham v Swansea - MatchDay Thread on 18:10 - Aug 25 with 2769 views | Jokeren1943 | Positives + Vorm was outstanding today. + Chico and Williams are slowly starting to work great togehter again (as we saw last season). + Puzeulo was outstanding. Actually fighting for Routledge and Pablo to be first team wing. Fantastic speed and more direct then Pablo. Negatives - Our midfield was again bullied. As we saw many times last season. - Both Davies and Rangel played a very bad match. - Mistake to use Guzman. Should have used both Britton and Canas as defensive midfielders.Guzman is very poor against a strong phsyical (Tottenham) squad. - Routledge and Shelvey were average. Shelvey tend to panic under pressure. - When playing with no striker our offensive is dead as a duck. [Post edited 25 Aug 2013 18:12]
