Fog - FA guidance for pitch inspection 07:45 - Jan 14 with 1426 views | fournil | Obviously completely moot now but I wondered how that match could have gone ahead based on the conditions at kick off. Here is the official FA guidance for fog: Fog creates its’ own problems. Use perspectives from ground level and the back of a stand – check forecast (remember that there is a responsibility to paying spectators). If was farcical from what I could see and i don’t understand why the kick off wasn’t at least delayed and an orange ball played at the very least.

Fog - FA guidance for pitch inspection on 08:41 - Jan 14 with 1286 views | thehat | I really thought the game would have to be paused - I certainly could see no action on the far side of the field for circa 40% of the game. It got better for the last 20 minutes.

It got better just in time to be able to tell as soon as Faes' shot left his boot it was going in the top corner Someone said to me that as long as the ref could see all four corners from the halfway line it could go ahead, I didn't know the bit about fans. We definitely spent large parts of the game unable to see anything at the far end, or even the other side on our own end. I can't for a minute believe the linesman could definitely see, as alluded to in Clive's report.
Fog - FA guidance for pitch inspection on 10:33 - Jan 14 with 1078 views | ngbqpr | For most of the game, once it got over the half way line, it was guesswork - spot the ball stuff. Know a Foxes fan who was in the opposite end to us who had the same experience. Regardless of the result - that's pretty $hit for 28k paying fans.

Certainly couldn't see their first goal and don't think the Commentator did either. It was only on a close up replay that I saw what happened,or didn't happen with our defending there.

No idea of the credibility of what he was saying but he did look handy with a sack of grit. It was also difficult to hear him as our support was so effin loud 💙🤍💙 but I’m sure he said the officials considered an orange football but there was an issue with it clashing with some of the players boots. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Blame Alan Ball, he started all that malarkey.

Agreed. Despite having shelled out on travel I wouldn't have been unhappy at it being cancelled, I saw next to nothing anyway.

Couldn't he have put out a couple of big wind fans?

Agree. It was a farce. There was a bit in the second half where the play stopped on the far side of the field for a prolonged period of David Webb faffing about and we started signing "what's going on?" because we genuinely couldn't tell.

Ok, I'm going to tell people it was, though. "Talk to me Cos you can see Oh, what's going on (What's going on) What's going on (What's going on) What's going on (What's going on) What's going on (What's going on)"

Strangely, I also watched it on a good stream, and could see the ball and players fine from start to finish. The fog obviously also didn't stop us playing fluently for half the first half, and Leicester hitting us for six. [Post edited 14 Jan 15:43]
