Fan sentiment towards RM changed on this board a while ago, but that's probably not representative of the wider fan base. Generally it seemed that most fans were still supportive of him. Now it feels like it's changing and most people want him gone. But I'm not really a social media user and I might be just picking up on a few random comments. What do people think?
As far as I'm concerned it would be a good thing if the majority of fans really turn against him, the atmosphere at games turned poisonous and everyone at the club knew that.

I have a sneaky feeling if we don’t fly out of the traps against Spurs, that things could finally turn a bit fruity. Whilst in all honesty it should all happen after the final whistle, I think based on how far we are behind the rest of the pack it will make little difference now if the Martin chants start during the game. |  |

Some years ago David Pleat was co-coms on a live game where the fans were protesting loudly for the manager to be sacked, Pleat’s observation was along the lines of when the fans call for the manager to go the board back him but when they call for the board to go they sack him!
I think the Spurs game is the perfect opportunity for the Northam Wall Of Sound to cause maximum embarrassment to SR as it is live on TV and therefore broadcast to the world. To the same tune we first sang Nathan Jones, your football is sh!t (away at Palace after about his sixth game in charge!!) I would suggest the following:
1 - Same song, just swap RM for NJ
2 - Same song, but change lyrics to RM f@@k off out of our club
3 - Same song, but swap SR for RM as in 2 above
4 - Same song, but change lyrics to Our owners are sh!t, our owners are sh!t. sport republic, our owners are sh!t

The board's silence is really deafening now. Not just fans, but a lot of media / pundits questioning Martin's lunatic tactics for weeks. I think the powers that be are probably split and the situation behind the scenes is pure chaos.
Highly unlikely there is any great masterplan or contingency in place, hence the total lack of communicating.....anything at all!
Rasmus and SR have been atrocious for us. Bad decision after bad decision - there is no pattern to any of it, they're just winging it from one day to the next. So disheartened as a fan and have been for a while. I keep refreshing this page and others in the hope Martin has gone but nope. Nothing. I really should get a life at some point [Post edited 9 Dec 13:04]

I truly wonder if Sports Republic have failed to replace Martin because their financial position is so dire that they simply haven’t got ( or can’t borrow ) the money to do so.

We played well at Brighton.
However the last two games have convinced me he has to go.
We have played against very good sides, but he has completely refused to change his ways regarding the lunacy of the hari kari at the back.
Moreover, he has criticised us for rightly calling it out as lunacy.
He isn’t going to change.

It's a bit like the club have an unpleasant disease, like syphilis, which comes with unpleasant symptoms - lesions, boils etc. In order to cure the boils, you have to get rid of the disease. In the case of Saints, Martin is the unpleasant boil, which need lancing, and SR ae the syphilis which needs to be removed.
Supporters have the following choices:
1) Boycott - probably easier if you live further away or don't have a season ticket;
2) Stop buying merchandise - tricky if you have kids!
3) Go to games and protest before during and after matches. This has to be organised and could take many forms eg.:
a) Demonstrations outside the ground;
b)Arriving en masse 15 minutes into the game;
c) Leaving en masse at half time;
d) Banners
e) negative chants during the game aimed at SR and RM;
f) throwing tennis balls (what's wrong with cricket?) onto the pitch;
g) pitch invasions.
4) Pretend you're a realist and keep going or just go because your mates go (you could go to Eastleigh, Sholing, Totton, Salisbury instead if you just want to go to football). If you do nothing, then nothing will change. If you do something then something might change.
Failing all of the above I would urge people not to renew season tickets for next season if SR are still here. | | | |

Fans have cut him a lot of slack because of last season and social media will tell you that RM still has quite a few people backing him. Twitter is full of gimps fawning over him like he's some sort of hero, saying how much they love the bloke and what a great guy he is. It's very odd.
I also think there's a sizable proportion of our fan base who just don't give enough of a shit to do anything about it. This season is so depressing, everyone's resigned to the fact we're doomed and nothing's going to change that. Even another dire performance at Villa on Saturday, with the customary defensive howler and 0 shots on target wasn't enough to get the fans there to chant negatively about him. Everyone took their medicine and fvcked off with barely a whimper.
Nathan Jones was instantly dislikeable, so it was pretty easy for the fan base to come together as one against him, which forced SR to act pretty quickly and get rid. Until enough people wake up to the complete arrogance of this narcissistic tit and start making their feelings known, nothing will change. |  |

I don't think that's true. If it was then he'd be abused instead of being clapped. All the abuse he gets is a few individual shouts and some general groaning. So far, he's had more cheering and clapping than abuse. Fvck knows why, but that's where we are. I'm just hoping that changes. | | | |
