The International Break weekend thread 21:52 - Oct 10 with 1365 viewswessex_exile

As it's started already, my first thoughts - pretty certain that Lee Carsley won't be the new full time England manager. Certainly not based on that performance against Greece, that's for sure.

Oh, and Lyle Taylor has just scored a penalty for Montserrat against the powerhouse that is Bonaire in the CONCACAF Nations League. Still a goal though...

Press build to up to knock them down.
They wanted Southgate to play all the creative players and let the hand break off . Carsley did just that, shows the players must do better.

Unlike the U’s, one good performance starts the next dawn, that goes behind the clouds all too frequently.

Indeed - didn't know that until yesterday when I was trying to see if there was a score feed anywhere on the internet. Not necessarily the best of role models it has to be said, but a good footballer.

....and it was a really shit penalty against a fat bloke that fell over in the wrong direction.

He should never be allowed to take a Col U penalty.

Was it Tovide at number 7 that got the penalty.

Check out our goal machine at 1:16, glad he's got that one out of his system!

I see he played the full match against a bunch neanderthals thereby maximising the chances of ruining our season and I expect he will do it all again on Sunday.

As for Bowyer, glad to see he's done so well for himself, he deserves it.

"Sarfraz Najeib was left unconscious, lying in his own blood. His cheekbone was smashed, his left leg fractured and his nose broken in three places. There were teeth marks embedded in his face, as well as the imprint of a shoe. Sarfraz had a wound to the back of his head that needed a dozen stitches. Witnesses thought he might be dead when his attackers, who had formed a semi-circle around him, fled the dimly lit Leeds side-street where they had beaten him within an inch of his life"

2024 if you're part of a mob that sets fire to a wheelie bin and direct it towards the coppers you get a lengthy stretch inside. 2000 you could be part of a mob that almost kills someone in a rasict attack and you walk free. Not everything is getting worse in the UK.

Watching the highlights, what strikes me is that our boy is playing with a bunch of complete donkeys

.......and he looks as if he fits in well.

I am more and more convinced we've been mugged off this summer.

He also looks like a young Steptoe.

I can image him shouting "HAROLD" at Harry Kane.

DISGRACEFUL
England should have an out and out Englishman who will have pride and joy in his England team's performance.
How are foreigners going to have the pride and ambition to succeed with another country's national team, and especially if we meet the manager's own country's team in competition?

It works for Rugby Union & Cricket, so why not football? If Tuchel is the best available man, then why not?

I simply see this as the former CEO of company A moving to become CEO of competitor B. Why should his place of birth or any other facet irrelevant to football have any impact?

For example; Successful scouser Liverpool players have become successful managers at other clubs, so what has past loyalty got to do with anything in football’s highly commercial environment? Many UK clubs have superb overseas managers that show zero favour when they come up against team competition from their homeland. My dad probably shot at his grandad, but I doubt if Tuchel holds any grudges. He has pride in his own performance and is paid a handsome sum to delivery it.
