4m for Wood then? 16:25 - Jul 1 with 2063 views | Swans9 | I was gobsmacked that we turned down 10m last summer. I like wood he left footed young tall and strong. If he goes for 7m Boro are supposed to get as much as 40 per cent of the sell on. Makes sense why we held out last summer now I thought it was because he was the last diamond left and the owners wanted to sell this summer instead.
4m for Wood then? on 16:48 - Jul 1 with 1986 views | ReslovenSwan1 | I suppose it is all about the 'add ons'. Southampton usually trade extremely well. Sell on clauses could be very valuable. England cap etc I think he will do very well and remember he is still very young.

4m for Wood then? on 17:22 - Jul 1 with 1902 views | ReslovenSwan1 | I wonder if this deal will be used to close the other matter of Martin's s compensation payment. That was about £0.75m from memory. A nice chance to clear the deck of all issues between the clubs. Goodwill in business is so important. I realise I am not everyone,'s cup of tea in the big city but I do raise issues others do not.

4m for Wood then? on 17:51 - Jul 1 with 1817 views | Swans9 | Might be around 4m after Boro get their slice of the cake. Surely after Lowe and Yates not starting the season for us both last season top scorers we desperately need a quality striker signing.
4m for Wood then? on 17:52 - Jul 1 with 1810 views | RhonddaSwans | Middlesbrough have a nice sell on aswell. Any idea of how much they get? No doubt only a fraction will be put back into the playing squad again 😡.

Certainly do. And they are both off the books salary wise. But another month of not paying out for new players and salaries means more money saved. That’s why we leave it late. Let’s see if Coleman backs up his words which Penc bumped earlier.

Selling players frees up spaces in the squad, Swansea have to make room and cannot have 50 player out on loan like Chelsea. The worst scenario is having too many wages on the books with player that cannot be shifted or refuse to go out on loan or be sold. Swansea did rapid trade last season and regretted it. In my opinion Williams mut not ostracise any player. Players like, Ogbeta ,Nathan NOA Pederson and Kuharevych. Ogbeta has gone. thankfully. I give the example of Potter using Courtney Baker Richardson to good effect. He was not Championship level but delivered some valuable goals.

4m for Wood then? on 18:52 - Jul 1 with 1624 views | dobjack2 | I don't believe that anyone offered £10 million for him last season. If anyone had, we'd have bitten their hands off.
4m for Wood then? on 19:40 - Jul 1 with 1525 views | Swans9 | Southampton offered 2 bids last summer around 10m. That was common knowledge. I think we were holding out for more because a large chunk goes to Boro in sell on clause.

Fact or gossip I think the deals were possibly edging towards those figures but I very much doubt, as has been said before they were at 10 million. And most certainly not a lump sum deal. More like a lengthy structured deal, whatever ‘nobody will ever know’ think about that one. The Swans will also have a healthy sell on for him as well, not forgetting Flynn Downes could easily leave West Ham banking a few more million or whatever it is. Swings and roundabouts.
