The first link I looked at, I'm not going to bother looking any further, states this.
"land reclamation projects drove island expansion on 93.5 percent of the inhabited islands of the Maldives, while a combination of land reclamation and engineered structures such as breakwaters and groins were responsible for much of the growth of the resort islands."
The islands aren't shrinking in size because humans are actually making them larger and more stable - why do you think they need to do that?

Why are the Maldives building more beachfront accommodation if it's sinking?
But nowhere near as much money as there is to be made in selling fossil fuels.
Plus of course the cost of long term damage across the entire globe caused by climate change will far outweigh any costs of carbon reduction.
Don't get me wrong we're doing our bit towards carbon reduction in the UK, and especially Wales, but the rest of the world needs to catch up.
See how easy it is to overlook the fundamental issues caused by plastics/microplastics and reductions in plant and animal diversity. We can reduce carbon but if we don't address the environmental issues systemically there will be nothing left to protect.

That's my big issue. I don't argue the climate isn't changing because obvioulsy it is, whether it's natral or man made doesn't matter. The bigger issue for me is destruction oof habitats, the destruction of the Amazon rainforest, deforestation worldwide and the pollution we are nearly all guilty of causing, plastics are ruining habitats and killing animals.
What point in saving the planet if we go "Dante" and turn it into the 10th circle of hell?
PS, people saying the weather warnings are being a nanny state should maybe take a look at what thers are going through because it's coming our way, as todays temperatures have shown, ladies and gentelmen i give you Angel martin Arjona and his own personal inferno,
Odd weather this morning, it was hot, then the wind got up about 9ish and blew it all away, the light splashing of rain lunchtime was most welcome.
Might get a good nights sleep tonight
It was much cooler and fresher for a while but when I went to fetch my wife from Morriston Hospital at 16.30 the temperature was between 28 and 30.5 acording to the car. Its supposed to be cooler tomorrow though.

that was the mid-summer sun, will be a lot cooler when sun goes down

I know they aren't sinking. That's impossible unless they were in a tectonic subduction zone. They aren't.
They are at risk because of sea level rise. Nils Wurner the guy quoted by the spectator is a climate change sceptic, when he was alive he was a geologist and said "The world’s true experts on sea level are to be found at the INQUA"
He's correct. Google to see what they think about sea level rise.

Often because they're in the pay of the fossil fuel industry, not always but usually. That's why they always bang on about Co2 and not other greenhouse gases that humans emit and are actually worse in some way.
You also linked an opinion by Fred Singer. He was paid by oil companies too. Before his death he was considered a fraud by other scientists.
Look at Wurner's publications, he's usually the only author. That's pretty much unheard of. Nobody else agrees with him.
There is pretty much nothing to be sceptical about, the overwhelming majority of evidence and current circumstances points to humans causing climate change.
There is nothing sensible that suggests otherwise, a bit like articles claiming the Maldives are actually growing in size despite sea level rise.
To a degree, everybody is on somebody's payroll. Some take money from the oil industry keen to maintain profits, others take money from Governments keen to introduce new "green" taxes. Scientists gotta eat too.
It doesn't help to portray one side as full of light and totally unimpeachable whilst the others just toe the party line.
Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.
It rained last night in Swansea and it looks like a cloudy day ahead, a normal July day in this part of the world. I must admit that last night was a joy to sleep in , the previous night was a nightmare with me and the dog walking the streets at 03:30 , which was nice

You are correct, there is nothing to be sceptical about , because nothing is happening. There is no direct evidence whatsoever, there is circumstance and coincidence
The sea level around the Maldives is not rising. It isn't rising around Tuvalu either. We have coastal erosion, yes, but not rising sea levels
It's big business and many scientists etc are getting funding to promote this agenda. As another chatter stated , everyone in on some payroll

Bluddy dogs eh. Ours had its first swim in the Irish Sea and the vomit projected all over the car boot was mighty impressive .

Give me an example of this circumstance and coincidence.
How about the coincidence of Co2 directly causing warming thorughout geological history?
