Any thoughts on Giggs now? on 22:48 - Nov 16 with 3005 views | ReslovenSwan1 | He has actually a very impressive record. Including friendlies. The away Czech performance was particularly good and only missed out of the win by a goalkeeping error. Only lost one game in group containing Euro q/f and s/f teams . The heavy defeat v Denmark was poor but fatigue might have been a factor. Roberts, Ampadu, Neco, Rodon, James and Johnson are developing nicely.

His trial is on Jan 24th. So if he is cleared he will expect his job back I suppose. Can’t see him saying to Page, you’ve come this far, crack on.

How long is Giggs contracted for?
| Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Of late it’s been good, but that Denmark game still concerns me. We were poor and tbh outclassed.

We are all proud of him Lifelong. Done an outstanding job. Most fans see the development and get his selections. He fits Wales like a glove. Pay Giggs off maybe and move on. Certainly Page keeps the job on merit.

Any thoughts on Giggs now? on 08:15 - Nov 17 with 2825 views | Fireboy2 | Not being funny but would everyone be so happy for him if the Belgians had scored late on because he didn't substitute certain players who were hanging out of their arses? It's lucky that they took their foot off the gas later on as we would be talking about an away play off game. Btw I'm really happy for us honestly ☺ | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I didn't think Giggs was a good appointment in the first place. Whatever happens with his court case I think his reputation is tarnished and I think the FAW should seek to sever the link.

I didn't like it in the first place, then he started to prove me wrong, then he got arrested. Giggs is tainted and best put aside. I wasn't that keen on Page either but the results have spoken for him, he deserves it on merit alone.

Any thoughts on Giggs now? on 12:53 - Nov 17 with 2631 views | jasper_T | If we get to a world cup we'll have to stick with him. Generally it doesn't work out well to stick with the caretaker just because they haven't fallen flat on their faces.

Yea agreed (take note Mr Shingles - this is a consistent view) Didn't want him to be appointed (mainly due to his lack of commitment to Wales& lack of experience, what we knew of his personal life at the time an.unsavoury cherry on the top). However, the results cannot be argued with. He did a great job up to the point that these latest set of personal indiscretions (alleged) emerged with the potential to compromise the team's performances. It's to page's credit he's managed to overcome it. Even if this all.turns out to be a spurious hoax, if he cared about Wales he'd have resigned. He doesn't need the money and innocent could easily walk back into the job down the line. "I'm stepping down to concentrate on clearing my name and allowing the team to move forward without this distraction" etc. Instead he's put the FAW in a very difficult position.

Any thoughts on Giggs now? on 13:14 - Nov 17 with 2594 views | DwightYorkeSuperstar | Have I missed something? We achieved a play-off spot in a group where we only needed to finish above Estonia and Belarus, and this is something to be celebrated? I'd understand the praise if we had won the group. Should we be successful in the play-offs, I'll gladly join in with the praise. Simply reaching them isn't a success.

First play offs since 1958, and tbh these play offs are a far bigger achievement. No lots drawn, no second chances due to politics etc. Credit where it’s due from me.

Maybe we count it twice after we got the playoff place last year from the nation's league?

Any thoughts on Giggs now? on 14:48 - Nov 17 with 2517 views | BarryTownSwam | What I don’t fully grasp is how we are lauding being so close to qualification. And it’s certainly not the closest we’ve been since 1958. I remember the I’ll-fated Romania & flare & Bodin’s penalty miss. Win that and we’d qualify directly for the finals not the playoffs for a potential chance of qualifying for the finals ! I remember the Russia game (wasn’t that a play off?) and the dope scandal and Hughes’ negative team tactics where a win would have seen us qualify for the finals. Delighted with the development from rank 122 in world to our rank today, and the squad age / depth is encouraging but to say it’s the closest we’ve been to a World Cup final since 1958 is wrong ! Come on Wales ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ·ó ¬ó ³ó ¿

The comparison was with ‘play offs’ in the World Cup. The Russia game was the Euros. The Bodin penalty miss was the last game in that group. Not a play off. Not winning a game and then not qualifying through a group surely isn’t closer than being in a play off ?

Finishing above Estonia and Belarus with this squad isn't a big achievement. Winning the group would have been a big achievement. Achieving qualification via the Play Offs would be a big achievement. Simply reaching then, when it only required finishing above Estonia and Belarus, is not a big achievement. Much like England comfortably qualifying from their group isn't a big achievement.

I agree with this although prior to this competition we would of qualified finishing 2nd. This play off malarkey spoils it all, if you want it for the 4 best 3rd place or something its fair enough. Its like celebrating winning the league when you are level on points with a stronger team with 3 games to go.
