Away following 15:25 - Feb 2 with 5200 viewscontroversial_jack

What's the biggest following we have taken to an away match, not including Wembley? 10,000 at Preston in 81 would be hard to beat.although we did late a load to Anfield the following season.

Think 4,000 ish to Wigwam midweek in a League cup game
3 or 4000 ish to Sheffield United in the FA cup (Butlaaaaaaahh!!!)

About 500-600 to Yeovil in a friendly when I think we unveiled Brenda
Few hundred on pre season Euro tours (spain, Holland etc)

Memory could be playing tricks mind!

If you wake up breathing, thats a good start to your day and you'll make many thousands of people envious.

My old man swore blind that we took 15000 to Liverpool in 1964. 5 buses from Builth.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

We took more to Bury in 05 compared to Wigan in 2010.
I am sure we took 5000+ to Reading in the FA Cup a few years back - 2005?

Bury in 2005 was great.
We had a whole pitch length stand.
I think the total was around 7000, away fans 5000.

I think there was a huge following at Preston when we were promoted under Toshack. There were thousands there....I loved every minute of that day.

I thought the palamos trip we had over 1000 at the first game?
mind you I had been on the piss with Betty and some more illustrious port Talbot Jack's. It was the end of my alcohol days that year.

Didn't we take 5,500 to Reading a few years back?
Def sold out most premier league away games first three seasons.
must have been 5000 ish at Bury? Promotion game.

Considering our location our support is more than impressive.

We seemed to have 5 - 6000 at Sunderland a few seasons back.
We filled the away end with 3200 and had a good few thousand scattered around the ground.
All hospitality taken by our lot too.

That was a game where we stayed at the Hilton next to the ground and had a meal there in the evening. David Moyes, Sunderland manager at the time was sat on his own on the next table.
Nice fella, but not many smiles in him.

I was at Preston in 1981 with 10000 Swans fans then later that year at Liverpool with another 10000 in the ground and hundreds locked out. Two outstanding memories for me.

In contrast I’ve been at Hartlepool in the mid 1990s with around 40 other Swans fans watching a 4-2 defeat I think it was. 😂

Only an idiot would eat a turkey curry on Christmas day

As a kid I went to the FA Cup semi final in 64 at Villa Park when we took approximately 40,000 of an official attendance of 68k.

I was there. Should have been week-end of nights but took the Friday and Saturday night off. Nearly lost my job. I went by train if my memory serves me right. Don't know if there was 15,000 of us there though, twas many moons ago. If I've got the right game we beat them 1-0 in the cup. It was Liverpool v Noel Dwyer and Draper scored the goal. Lost next round to Preston in the pissing rain, deserved the win but their centre half humped it forward, it took one bounce and over our keepers head. That was played at Villa Park. Prepared to be corrected, I'm 75 now and forget sometimes what I went into the other room for.

I’m more surprised that Villas ground held 68,000 . Even though It’s two and a half hours away 40000 is still an eye watering number .
