Judas III's news conference at 16.30pm... on 15:31 - May 20 by Joe_bradshaw | It seems that if a manager is successful enough here to be poached by a club in a higher division he becomes a Judas. This is despite the fact that we would all move jobs for loads more money and better prospects. Of course, if he's unsuccessful we'll sack him without a second thought.. Some of our fans seem to think that managers and players should be as loyal to the club as we are. It's a bit daft to say the least. |
Daft? really?. So, when the so called sell outs cash in on 14 years work they are scum, sellouts...Judas Jenkins etc. When Martinez left he to was Judas. But now Potter decides to leave, oh fck me, he's leaving because the Yanks won't back him...and we the fans shouldn't hold it against him? Just fck off....this Judas who kissed the badge and sung YJB at the last home game then took his pieces of silver and left. Am I bitter...fking right I am. Will I back the next manager..yes when he's winning and not faun over him like a lot on here did with Judas Potter

No idea but it paints an even more critical picture of our finances if we are making assistant manager and first team coaches redundant (and I don’t believe that we are for one moment).

Except you can't compare the Sell Outs to a manager. Also all our mangers, that weren't sacked, left the club when it was in very good condition with plenty of potential. Potter left a crock of sh!t club with no ambition and owners who are absent most of the time whilst not orepalred to put any money in. All this for a better paid more secure job in the Premier League. If we ever play Brighton again I won't be applauding Potter but I don't blame him one iota for what he has decided. He owes us nothing.

No they weren’t nobody attached to first team were given the redundancy letter although apparently the other coaching staff at the academy including Cameron Toshack and his team were given notices.

No...I don't buy that. The same rule applies for all. Potter knew what he was walking into. He went for the money. Nothing more nothing less. He's in the same category as I've previously posted.

Does this include his coaches and assistants? If this is true and I was in his position I would be off sharpish! If I had persuaded some people who had worked closely with me for a number of years to uproot their families and follow me to the UK only to see their livelihood under threat I wouldn’t be very happy and I would feel some sense of responsibility. A move to another club where we would earn more would sort it. I would still be unhappy at the prospect of losing other members of the back room team like medical staff etc, to compete at the top level you need an infrastructure. None of us know what he’s been told, what was agreed, if any promises were broken and what exactly took place during the last 2transfer Windows. It also appears that some of his players may not have been available to him for selection! What we can say is that relegation from the PL has, as we knew it would cost a lot of money, the club’s poor business in the transfer market has made matters worse. Managers leave clubs regularly and clubs sack managers regularly, I wonder if Guidolin thinks anyone’s a Judas? The guy has had an opportunity most people can only dream of. He did a good job last year and kept the club in the Championship and that’s been recognised by Brighton who want him to take their club forward. I am disappointed he’s off, but I don’t blame him.

Oh I am sure the money was involved but to compare his leaving to Martinez or Rogers, or even worse the disgraceful way Jenkins and Co sold out, is invalid imho. Despite playing some decent football, last season was a disaster off the pitch. Also it is possible to make false promises at the time of an appointment. You may be too young to remember but one Swansea manager left after a few days after being bullish!tted during his interview. I would be as annoyed as you if we had owners who were doing their very best for the club but ours patently are not.

When Potter walked in, was he told he wouldn't be able to pick several of our most experienced players for a chunk of the season because of contractual issues ? Who knows to what extent he was backed, or not, in respect of potential transfers. Who knows what he has been told in respect of retaining the players he wants? Administratively, the club is arguably even more of a shambles than when he joined, On his ability as a manager. I liked him. He did OK. Defensively we were a shambles. He wasn't going to get us up next season, and he knew it. Potter, thanks for this season, now p1ss off.

Do you know...I don't blame HJ for bailing out...not when they have to take the shit off supporters 24/7 when something like this happens. So if you hold them in low esteem then this wretch Potter, and others like him should be treated the same.

Just for the record. HJ's crime was to wilfully hide from the Trust his scheme to sell a majority stake in the club to a bunch of 'investors' who would neither put funds into the club, nor manage it properly. It was deceptive and absolutely the wrong thing to do on many levels. Potter called it a day for pastures new, as many players and managers do all the time. There's a massive difference.

Left with one established senior centreback for a couple of weeks while we brought in a loan player he wanted who'd done well at two Championship clubs last season. And an academy product who did brilliantly. With more young players available as backup. Defensively we weren't suspect outside set pieces.
