Some slightly worrying news about cancelled ferries coming out. We might look into an alternative route, Belfast-Dublin - Rosslare- Cherbourg-Amsterdam. I wonder if any Romanians, Poles, Czechs and Slovaks have looked into the return route.?

Could Forest away be postponed due to Brexit ? on 11:10 - Jan 23 by Ace_Jack | Ok here goes, like a child. If Angela's country has over 40 trade deals and tariff free access to the largest single market in the world, and Theresa's country has no trade deals and all her goods and services are subject to tariffs, whose economy is more f**ked? Even fat Kims isolated tin pot dictatorship of a country has about 6 trade agreements and all they export is coal bricks and fake money. Simple enough for you? [Post edited 23 Jan 2019 11:11]

Thanks, you’re too kind. Could you explain who stands to lose more bilaterally between the EU and the UK? As in, please, like a child, under WTO rules where tariffs are imposed based on the trade between the EU and the UK alone, who would it cost more?

It would cost us more because companies that trade between the EU and us will just relocate into the free trade area to avoid tariffs and retain access to the trade deals agreed by the EU. Why would a company remain here, bound by tariffs, when they can easily relocate to the tariff free largest single market in the world? Because Rule Britannia? Trade deficits aren't the whole story of an economy. Did you go to the Trump school of Economics?

A nuclear winter will befall us, and the sounds of trumpets of the Archangel Gabriel shall be the only music to fall upon our ears. Can you just imagine the chaos the violent Left is preparing for us patriots? The feminazis and the soy boys going on a murdering rampage against the men of righteousness and morals. Barricade yourselves, your children and your wives. From the psychopathy of the Labour and Lib Dem militias. For they fear not God. Homosexuals shall flood our streets, signalling the decay of our society. Heathens and Mohammedans shall carry the whip and enslave us believers in Christ. Women will talk back, and the coloured shall seduce our liberal white women, creating a new monster the world has never seen before, the mixed-race..words..are failing me. Their vengeance on the holy day of the great promise of Brexit will be the end of us all, We will be massacred by the legions of liberals and progressive left. [Post edited 23 Jan 2019 13:12]

Could Forest away be postponed due to Brexit ? on 00:31 - Jan 23 by Glyn1 | Hmm,, today P&O announced that its entire fleet of cross-Channel ferries will be re-registered under the flag of Cyprus, as the 182-year-old British maritime operator activated its Brexit plans. The ferries include the Spirit of Britain, the Pride of Kent and the Pride of Canterbury. And Sony confirmed it is moving its European headquarters from London to Amsterdam. ........................... Still, the people who said that the Brexit dead would be the easiest one to negotiate, that other countries would be queuing up to sign trade deals with us, and that we would better off economically outside the EU, are now saying that nothing is going to happen. So that's alright then, I feel much better. [Post edited 23 Jan 2019 0:31]

I notice those moves too. Also Bentley are looking to move out of UK into the EU zone but they are owned by VW so that should quite easy for them to do.

You really don't need to resort to puerile insults, it's boring. Suggesting I'm an ignoramus like Trump, or referencing me as needing a child's explanation. As it stands then, if no companies relocate it would cost the EU more?

It would cost the EU more money if all thats relevant in the Brexit negotiations is the existence of those two figures but realistically it's not relevant at all because: 1) EU companies will relocate, as they already are doing so, looking at doing so and saying they will do so. 2) EU nations will still continue to have tariff free access to the biggest single market in the world. A no deal would be bad for the EU, no-one is disputing that, but it will be much, much worse for us as we lose tariff free access to our biggest market whilst the EU only loses a fraction of theirs. But keeping it puerile, if you think a good justification for a no deal Brexit lies simply within the existence of a trade deficit between the EU and the UK, you are a complete f**king moron.

The purpose of international trade is that both sides benefit. You've already agreed that brexit means both sides lose. Therefore, there is no economic argument for brexit and its a stupid thing to do, based on flawed ideology. The only ones trying to convince people it's still a good idea are ones who stand to gain personally, such as May clinging to power or the ERG and their disaster capitalism.

I'd agree there isn't a strong economic argument for Brexit in the short-term. I do believe that the economic benefits will be seen long term however. In any case, and this is the one thing that Remain supporters still don't seem to have grasped about why the UK voted to Leave, it wasn't about money for me. Many Leavers say the same. It was about sovereignty and identity and who Governs us. Those things you can't really place a value on.

On the positive side, Maevis and Alice will be offered new jobs by the FA to make replacement footballs for all the Mitre and Nike ones that will be stuck in a shipping container a mile offshore of Dover.

So we've ruled out economic benefits. We've ruled out business benefits ("f*ck business") It's been confirmed that Parliament is and always always has been sovereign. Even where we don't benefit from EU trade deals, we already trade with the rest of the World on conditions at least equal to those conditions that the Brexiteers want us to have. We're governed by our Parliament, with minor input from the Assembly. And we've continually voted representatives off the back of pro-EU collaboration and alignment manifestos. We don't want to take back control as: - 1. Brexiteers are literally begging foreign governments to now influence our domestic issues. - 2. Brexiteers are lobbying to close down the Parliament and remove its sovereignty. All that's left is 'we don't like foreigners very much'. And I don't mean that in a xenophobic way (although that also occurs). It might just be in a grumpy old man 'I don't like anyone or anything, and those foreigners all look a bit shifty' kind of way. Feck it I don't know, because nobody has given a single reason yet that bears up to even the most basic scrutiny. It's mad. The whole clusterf*ck is the most bizarre thing I've ever come across.

We didn't vote to leave, only 37% did. As for, 'It was about sovereignty and identity and who Governs us.' What load of propagandist codswallop. We alway had sovereignty and when parliament excesses that power it's the leavers who have moaned the loudest. Identity! What identity? Seriously. I have no doubt about my entity but it has nothing to do with extreme right (what my father fought in WW2 to defend Europe from). 'who governs us' we have never lost our own governance but it has been lazy to blame the EU for our short comings. Once out and using WTO get used stupidly high tariffs and years of delay because one of the 127 nations objects to a trade deal. MODS This should be on the poetical forum. My fault.
