I counted today that our squad is about 27 or 28 players so from a numbers perspective I think we are okay. Injuries can affect you at any level and make starting XI different. I don’t see it is as light as you think. We will need a bit of luck we are okay numbers wise

Even a relegation wage reduction of 25% would probably leave the players on vastly inflated wages for the division.
Presumably they make life more manageable but it’s not as if they take the squad from one earning PL money to one earning Championship money.

I hope you are right and I am wrong, my personal view is that the squad is very thin and that the owners are taking a big (maybe calculated on their part) risk going through to January with the players, but who knows?
MCBurnie is already injured and Bony is supposed to be getting back to fitness, but if both pick up knocks which rely their return then the club is going to struggle. The start of the season has gone ok, but we will know a lot more after the next 4 games.
The average number of points required to avoid relegation is 49 so that’s a point per gameto avoid relegation and 86 to secure automatic promotion. Play offs usually require a minimum of 73 points. | | | |
