We were relegated because stupid decisions were made at the the top and I mean at the very top.
Money was wasted on players and players were sold to late to enable the club to start last season prepared properly. There is no excuse for this. Its all well and good sacking the scouting team and the manager (more than once), but in any sustainable and successful enterprise the people at the very top would be removed.

Last season is important because we were relegated, unless you have forgotten and we have to start at a lower base this season. With less than 2 weeks to the start of the season, it looks like last seasons mistakes regarding season preparation have not been learnt. |
Correct. Stupid decisions probably weren't made for that long a period of time but that's enough to relegate a club like us.
By the time you get to a couple of seasons of struggling, you can't attract the players you once did and you end up having to gamble on the likes of A.Ayew and Bony. Ayew was the equivalent of sticking all your cash on red at the casino in reality and they probably knew that at the time.
The mistakes we made 2-3 years ago are now really coming home to roost.
If anyone thinks by September 1st we'll have signed anything more than a couple of youngsters and got 3-4 in on loan, I suspect they may be disappointed. That's not a criticism of this summer, it's a by product of the last 5 or 6 transfer windows (probably Jan 2017 aside) which were scandalous. |  | | |

In some ways, it would be nice to see a few gaps in the squad because at least then the youngsters will be given a shot.

from the list above, I would probably hold on to dyer and Mcburnie
the rest are complete failures for the way the gave up last season and couldn't be bothered to string two passes together.
What I witnessed on that field was nothing short of shambolic. And I wouldn't want to be next to any of them in the trenches. |
