Have to say, i was/would have been pretty excited and optimistic with how things stood, if we'd kept the squad together and added a mobile striker. To lose three of our best five players, though, at such a pivotal moment?
I'll never completely buy the ffp argument. That's the justification for everything nowadays, but really? How much money will we have saved here? I bet we've spent more paying off and bringing in new management. I hope they don't seriously expect 6 weeks of coaching to replace three premier league calibre players in the spine of the team with Alex Baptiste and a couple of youngsters?

Gutted Smithies has gone and its nice to say that with the rubbish we have had over the years. Completely underrated in my opinion. Top top professional on and off the pitch, saved us points so many times i have lost count. Good luck Smithies Cardiff have got themselves one hell of a keeper.
Ingram and Lumley definitely not at Smithies level but would stick with them. They both have potential and now is their chance to fight it out and make the no1 spot there own.

Can't be many players who we have sold for twice ( or more?) what we bought them for after a few years of sterling service. While a few mill extra would be nice it makes a pleasant change someone actually paying real money rather than us begging for a loan deal while we still pick up wages... a step in the road to recovery
