Makes you question why the board seem relaxed at the prospect this season is a real possibility of relegation and doing little about it, surely going into the season they must of looked at the squad and the players who had departed were instrumental in avoiding the drop the previous season had not been replaced, the only rational I can see is 1, Run with transfer cash 2, Share out the parachute payment and run. Or the yanks are totally clueless when it comes to British football and are being fed BS. Certainly don't see them as clueless - of course they don't want relegation
However they want to limit any losses so hoping to hit the jackpot of continued PL on minimum costs
But they are not going to throw money at their little gamble
From the outset they will have a plan, which extends to clearly cover the event of relegation - as I openly said to Jason at the members meeting - he did not attempt to deny that as it is just common sense
They will ruthlessly carry this plan out whatever it entails and we know, and they never pretended otherwise, it will be all about every last cent they can squeeze out of their investment vehicle. The ongoing good of the club or care for other shareholders will not even be a speck on the horizon
It is naive to think we could engage with them to the greater good of the club in any relationship other than that of power. Of which our Director repeatedly made clear at Thursday's trust meeting - we have none.
What do we think this Delaware company is all about?
To give them control of our shares and think we can sit at the table as real partners is madness.
It has always been the case, that they will give us nothing that does not serve their ends.
But of course if and whilst success continued, or even for us looked a vague possibility, most were all happy, whatever creature we were in bed with
To use the fact that we are afraid to litigate against our own club, they must be laughing, with such assuredness they try to silence us as an organisation even before the threat of legal action is removed.

If that article is vaguely accurate then we would appear to be on the track for the following 3 year parachute/championship tv money of circa £58M (first year), £48M (second) & £23M (third) plus any stadium/ticket revenue & commercial/shirts/sponsorship etc.
If we currently sit @ the 80%+ wages to sales then that's circa £85M pa, even if we work on a say 25% wages cut (around £20M) we'd just above cover 2 years down (particularly when you factor in sales/exits of loanees + Mawson, Fabianski (for fees) but we'd need to be careful on spend/investment - unless of course the yanks are up for throwing some $$$$$ into the pot!!!!! | | | |

What annoys me is that the hardest part has been done, staying in the premier league when having just been promoted and establishing yourselves as a true premier league club, with the kinds of money that have been paid to the club after several seasons in the top division and the sale of players, Swansea should now be in a stronger position than they have been for many years, instead things have gradually got worse and worse. On the face of it Cardiff now look like a stable well run club, how things have changed. | | | |

Players wages will drop by a third, at least that's the way they were structuring deals when we first came up. | | | |
