I couldn't help thinking this week about what happened the last time a woefully inexperienced American who talks a good game entered my consciousness... Fisrt half against Man Utd sprang to mind :-)
There was a steady flow of students entering Ms. Boynton’s office Wednesday. They spent the day sprawled around the center, playing with Play-Doh and coloring in coloring books, as they sought comfort and distraction.
Ms. Boynton's office isn't at a grade school. Or a junior high. Or even a high school. This is the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, one of the most difficult public universities in America to get acceptance to.
Hate to sound like the grumpy old man I'm quickly becoming,. But 3 generations ago, American "kids" this exact same age spent 4 years (sorry we were a little late) fighting and dying against the Nazis and Japanese in order to help save mankind.
How the ****ing **** did we get from THAT, to ****ing colouring books and Play-Doh (which is luckily safe to eat, if I recall correctly from Kindergarten) when your candidate loses?!?!?!!
****!!!!!
Trump may manage to surprise people. But, I can't promise he won't be the disaster most people worldwide expect. FWIW, our market seems to like the near future, so far. And typically that goes down no matter who wins, just due to the uncertainty.
But in the really long run, it doesn't matter. Once the Snowflake Generation takes over, we're done.

And of the generations preceding the veterans of Omaha and O’Kinawa, well, they would’ve be hunting down the indigenous tribes of North America and then spring forward a few, why, they’d be farming the ‘negro’.
US students displaying sensitivity is perhaps not such a bad thing. I mean, given the scenes we usually see of US campuses (kids full of holes from sem-eye automatic weapons, body bags and mourning parents) I’ll take soppy teenagers and edible play-doh all day long. And if we’re choosing generations, well sir, I’ll have me a whole blizzard of snowflakes.
To be fair, predicting Trump to win sounded almost as silly as picking Leicester City to win the PL.
But credit to my girlfriend, she called it from the beginning. She and one of my good friends (an African American who slowly moved from independent to hard conservative, caused by a few years of living in San Francisco that jaded him against the Left) were the only two people I know that predicted this all along, and I'd been telling them they were nuts for months.

You're in danger of doing a 'I've a black friend who loves Trump' there Tummer
As an aside - how living in San Francisco can make anyone turn against anything is a bit beyond me as it is (from a tourist's perspective) on of the most lovely cities on the planet.

Yeah I know, but that's what he is. And given all the perceived racial divisiveness talked about now, it's unfortunately relevant.
He absolutely loved living there. But he's a self-made, self-employed small businessman, and a no-nonsense capitalist who just hated the people and their issues with logic and common sense. His words, not mine.

Give me neither. I'd prefer well rounded individuals who dont seek violence, or throw tantrums at the first sight of perceived danger. Give me people who can stand on their own two feet and do not constantly blame a fictitious boogyman. Give me people who can think for themselves, and look to promote discussion, even of "triggering" ideas, without running off to a safe space.

You've listed everything I'd look for in a potential son-in-law there, pal.
An idea isn't responsible for those who believe in it.
How did Brexit come about? How was Trump elected? Why is Le Pen about to cause an earthquake in western Europe?
Listen between 3:45 and 4:23 and you'll come pretty close to the kernel.
Isn't it just.
Been banging that drum for years. If the genuine concerns people have are ignored by the mainstream then they're just going to drift further out.
Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.
Do you Trump haters actually think that these Riots are spontaneous? They have been arranged by the likes of Soros, if you look at the banners and placards you can actually see the email adresses of the publishers and Printers which just happen to be owned by Soros' organisations. A hard core of activists surrounded by a group of useful idiots. You are unbelievably gullible accepting what you see in the MSM, just as you were over Clinton and her campaign. You also have absolutely no clue about Trump either, it is not him that will run the Country on his own, just as it is not May running the UK. Obama tried it on his own and his so called "Legacies" are going to be undone in a few months.

Watching this week's Question Time did the thought occur to you as you watched the panel mouthing the same old, empty banalities that they are being overtaken by events, that Clio is about to consign them?
"....for the old order of things has passed away."

I rarely watch Question Time these days.
Seems like there's a huge sea change in society as far as a number of things are concerned. Traditional media is dying a death as people can access far more sources via the internet, and are far less likely to do as they're told as a result. People can live in political "bubbles" as their ability to pick and choose news sources that agree with them and ignore contrary views.
Wouldn't surprise me to see a fracturing of all the main political parties as more, smaller groups emerge.

A week ago you believed that the voting machines were all owned by Soros and were going to change everyone's vote to Hillary. It was absolutely, totally, undoubtedly, a fix.
Is there any subject where you don't absolutely believe what you are told by Stephen Bannon?

Democracy is a f*cking myth. That latest freak show should've woken up anyone who thought otherwise. What a sham. Do people really think big business and international finance leave anything to chance? Ever?

If you want a vision of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face--forever.

You are tremendously entertaining. Your conspiracy theories change by the hour. You're like Bluey on speed.
