Thank you and goodnight Bobby 18:12 - Mar 22 with 7857 views | baz_qpr | We got a fleeting glimpse of Adel Vargas Isla and Austin in those last ten minutes and you have to wonder what might have been if we had not persisted with this crazy knock it long to the cripple tactic for the last 5 months. He was abject today. He's been a good servant but enough now we are down lets at least be entertained with fast one touch passing and great feet

Thank you and goodnight Bobby on 20:37 - Mar 22 by DejR_vu | Apparently CR likes players that train well rather than good ones that might win you a game of football. The tactical genius that played SWP from the start last week. |
goodnight bobby.. hello championship.... I wonder if we will start the championship with less players than blackpool did this year....

Did he get the ball? So we tried that for less than an hour of the season, then stuck on Zamora

The most cutting edge strategy that our talented management teams have come up with is 'bang it long to Bobby'. Nice work if you can get it.

Thank you and goodnight Bobby on 20:08 - Mar 22 by DejR_vu | 'he so called multiple chances he fluffed were in the main ones he crafted' Well that's okay then. What about the header he failed to even connect with? The shot in the second half that went over the bar? How can a 'striker' fail to hit the target so often? I think I had as many attempts on target as him and I was in the stands. [Post edited 22 Mar 2015 20:09]

And the time he spends trying to shuffle the ball onto his left foot when he gets a sight of goal. The one shot he finally did his with his right, which he blazed over, he probably had time to bring it down [Post edited 22 Mar 2015 21:26]

I forgot about the header, good shout, like to see it again but at the time thought he should have done better. I have no expectation that bobby will score. He's picked because we don't have anyone else who can consistently hold the ball up. I'd argue that today we might have been better off playing without a target man and playing through everton on the deck. But if you are going to lump it forward then bobby almost always brings other players in to play, he got his fair share on knock downs etc. When he went of and we lumped it the ball came straight back. Then we brought on adel and actually played football. I was delighted. But that doesn't mean bobby had an especially bad game he just did what bobby does.

Nah, why change a winning formula? Keep banging it long to the lamp post. These Premier League teams will never be able to cope with it. Who wants to be entertained anyway? CR says it's unbelievable that we haven't got three points today. It's working a dream.

Because he is not a front man. He needs to have another forward working with him. And we are yet to see that being tried and tested. It's so stupid it's making my blood boil. From what we have now, there's no excuse not to play Adel on the left, Matt on the right and Edu up top with Charlie. Pains me to see our coaching staff fails to see this. With Harry it was more a matter of him not even bothering to see it. He seemed to have an agenda against some players and a blind eye for others. But now I hope Ramsey saw enough and we get our act together. WE NEED OUR TALENTED PLAYERS PLAYING EVERY MINUTE. It's been proven that we are getting nowhere with "fighters" or "runners" or this limited cast of mediocre players that seem to be getting more playing time than others.

Lost count of the amount of times he nodded the ball down for a Rangers player and I don't think Austin won a header all afternoon, surprised so many want him dropped now! jordan what aspect do you like most of wor bobbys 3 goals in 42 games? 'working the center backs', 'running the channels', 'nusiance value' are just terms for a player who couldnt hit mica paris's arse with a fem dom bull whip and who does the sioux war dance at corners and free kicks. other than his goal at wembley, which i thank him for from the bottom of my heart, he has been a signing which has cost us millions in wages and transfer fee for stunning mediocrity i believe he has been more than rewarded in terms of fiscal funds in ratio to sporadic apperances /fitness levels /and goal return . i read on here that wor bobby should be given credit for being in the right place for his chance yesterday...hes a striker.. its like me asking my boss for credit to turn up in the mornings to deal with skag heads, alcoholics and wife beaters at her majestys probation office. or being in the right place at the right time to catch chicken pox. Thank you and goodnight Bobby on 10:07 - Mar 23 with 2335 views | JordanFoster | I think he's been a huge player for QPR and Austin this year. I like the way he pins the centre halves time and time again creating space for Austin or other players. The games against Arsenal and Spurs where he pins or occupies the defenders before laying it off as proof of this. Or Sunderland away when it's his run that creates the space for Fer to exploit behind him for a free header - he's occupying two defenders and takes them both with him. Even yesterday he had the beating of Stones, admittedly he was wasteful with chances but so was Austin against Spurs. Zamora has his limitations but you can bet your life his team-mates value him far higher than the fans.

Thank you and goodnight Bobby on 10:52 - Mar 23 with 2264 views | daveB | I thought Zamora played ok yesterday, should have scored in the first half but gave his all which is all you can ask. It's ridiculous we are still relying on him, should have been replaced 2 years ago and should have come off a good 10 minutes earlier yesterday but I don't think he deserves the stick he gets.
Thank you and goodnight Bobby on 11:23 - Mar 23 with 2232 views | simmo | I got grief on here last time for losing it with our persitence in playing Austin and Zamora upfront, the same percentage long balls playing perfectly into the hands (or onto the head in this case) of slow older, aerially dominant centre backs. People talking about how it worked for a small run of home games pre xmas, etc. Well it's bollocks, and I was lucky enough to have been given a ticket for Sunday, but I would have been livid if I had once again paid good money for it. A load of shite that should have been changed as soon as other options became available. Vargas, Taarabt, Phillips should be the 3 behind Austin, all able to travel with the ball, beat a man, pick a pass and all interchangeable positionally. I am not saying it would have meant staying up, and I realise they have not all been fit and available all season, but there's no excuses now. No more Bobby, please.

Remind me what position we are in Jordan? Its 2015 we are relying on a centre forward in the premier league who cant jump due to injury. Zamora did ok against Stones because Everton were utterly woeful defensively. We've played this way for 5 months and we are 2nd from bottom we've lost what 10 in 11. We can play another way you know, we do have other players, Zamora was never even that great at this role in his prime. How many more games do we have to lose before we say lets give Austin, Phillips, Vargas and Taraabt ago as the front four. And if this was the way we are going to play why on earth have we never bought an understudy, there are plenty of lumps in the lower leagues with no pace that can do a similar job

Sorry mate but I completely disagree, you can't say the role Zamora plays could be done by "a lump in the lower league", that's laughable to even suggest that. It's an ugly way of playing, but they're aren't many better in the PL at doing it than Zamora. Two managers have been at the helm this year, two managers that watch the players in training every day and know far more than you or I and BOTH of them have chosen Zamora and this gameplan. What does that tell you about our squad and the players in it? If you don't have the players there's not a lot you can do. I agree that I'd love to see us go at sides with all our flair players but Taarabt's been injured for a lot of the year and Vargas has been carrying niggles. I like him but still wouldn't have him as a forward or a winger, if we played a 4-2-3-1 then I'd have him in all day long but we'd expose the fullbacks far too much.

Thank you and goodnight Bobby on 13:53 - Mar 24 with 2089 views | TacticalR | This is a longstanding debate which has been going on for years. Richard Langley talked about it on Open All R's in 2012. Asked about Mark Hughes' philosophy he said: 'It is difficult to see sometimes. Sometimes we do go out there and we look we're going to pass the ball with Granero and Faurlin in the middle. They look like they can take control of the game. And then there are times when we look very, very direct: we're hitting Zamora, and missing out the midfield.' No style of play is killing us http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/blackburnrovers/forum/73643/847681/no-styl
