Film critics (people widely regarded as experts in the subject) almost unanimously agreed it was a great film.

What you haven't done is separate your (left wing) views from the film. You may dislike Kyle the man, his book, what he stands for etc, but you cannot call the film 'crap' and expect anyone to value your opinion.

There's very few war biographies i haven't read, well there probably are but i've read way over a hundred and i thought the film was rubbish as well.

Watched Out of the Furnace last night (Netflix, Christian Bale). Good film.

The Equaliser (Denzel Washington in the Edward Woodward role, if you can get your head around that) is also a good film, but it is unremittingly bleak.
